Hot Openings: Anantara opens fifth Abu Dhabi property

Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas opened Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort, its fifth property in Abu Dhabi and its third on the island that houses the Arabian Wildlife Park.

The new resort is located within the park, occupying facilities developed for minimal environmental impact. The property is designed for couples; families with children aged 12 years and older are welcome.

The 30 villas feature traditional thatched roofing and are set amid salt dome hilltops and grassy savannah. Villas have natural light, traditional wooden furnishings, ceiling beams, bronze bathtubs and local handicrafts. Some villas feature separate lounge and dining spaces and personal plunge pools.

Guests can explore the nature reserve on safari-style guided walks and drives, by mountain bike across the desert salt flats and hinterlands, and by kayak through lagoons and mangroves. Archery, snorkeling, and equestrian activities are also on offer.

The Savannah Grill serves Western favorites and traditional African fare; guests are free to choose from the restaurants and bars at the other two Anantara properties on the island as well. The Cigar Lounge offers an international array of cigars.

Additional amenities include conference space, a swimming pool, a workout room, and a dedicated prayer room.
