It’s Personal Stories, the hospitality leadership podcast founded by David Kong, Rachel Humphrey and Lan Elliott, has launched a newly redesigned website that expands access to its interview library and related content.
The platform centers on a curated and continually growing archive of nearly 300 interviews with hospitality leaders from around the world. Each interview follows a 30-minute format and focuses on the personal journeys, challenges, values and lessons shared by each guest advisor.
The website introduces tools that allow users to search interviews by guest advisor name, title, company and by categories such as brands or ownership and management groups. Each interview is paired with a written summary that outlines the guest advisor’s background and key themes discussed.
In addition to the interview library, the platform includes original articles inspired by the conversations. The topics address themes such as imposter syndrome, overcoming adversity, work-life harmony, leadership habits and traits, influence and self-care. These topics are drawn from the experiences shared by the podcast’s guest advisors.
The platform also positions itself as a resource for professionals preparing for business or career discussions. By reviewing interviews, users can learn how leaders describe their experiences and values, which can be used as context when approaching partnerships, interviews or mentorship opportunities.
“This platform was created to empower personal success,” said David Kong, Founder of It’s Personal Stories and former President and CEO of BWH Hotel Group. “I wanted to create a space where our guest advisors, leaders we deeply respect, could openly share their thoughts, experiences, and advice to inspire the next generation of hospitality leaders. These individuals are true role models. Their stories and insights offer invaluable guidance for navigating career progression, building confidence, and making intentional choices along the journey. My hope is that by learning from those who have walked the path before them, others will be inspired to believe in themselves and boldly pursue their own goals and dreams.”
Founded in 2022, It’s Personal Stories has developed a global following and has generated nearly 750,000 views on YouTube. All content on the platform is available free of charge.
