The Aspen Times reports that Dan Friedkin purchased Hotel Jerome, an Auberge Resort, through his investment company Iconic Properties for US$69.15 million. Friedkin also purchased the former Aspen Times building for US$3.35 million, which will be the site of the hotel’s expansion.

Friedkin, majority owner and chairman of Auberge Resort Collection, purchased the Aspen, Colorado hotel from DRW Real Estate. The Chicago-based company had owned the hotel since 2011 and remodeled it in 2012. Under the purchasing agreement, Auberge will continue managing the hotel.
Hotel Jerome first opened in 1889 and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
