Hilton to close California call center, 325 affected

HEMET, CALIFORNIA Hilton Worldwide on October 6 will close a reservations call center that employs 325 people at a facility in Hemet, California.

Some employees will be offered similar positions at Hilton call centers in Texas and Florida. Those who choose not to relocate will be offered a severance package.

“Across all aspects of its business, Hilton Worldwide is committed to maximizing operating efficiencies while maintaining service levels,” says spokesman David Trumble. “In keeping with this commitment, Hilton Worldwide has made the difficult decision to consolidate its western operations and to close the Hemet, California, reservations center.”

Since 2008, Hilton has also closed call centers in Illinois and Pennsylvania.
