Hilton Los Angeles Airport renovates ahead of World Cup

Hilton Los Angeles Airport has started a $50-million renovation project focused on the full refresh of its 1,234 guestrooms. The hotel is located near Los Angeles International Airport and in close proximity to SoFi Stadium, Intuit Dome and The Kia Forum. The renovation is intended to update guest accommodations ahead of a period of increased travel tied to major international sporting events.

“It’s a once-in-a-generation moment for Los Angeles; few cities have experienced such a remarkable lineup of global sporting events in consecutive years,” said Jeff Ragonese, general manager, Hilton Los Angeles Airport. “As the world arrives for the FIFA World Cup in 2026, the Super Bowl in 2027, and the Olympic Games in 2028, Hilton Los Angeles Airport stands ready to host guests with refreshed spaces and hospitality that reflect the energy and spirit of this incredible city, and is also worthy of the world’s stage.”

The renovation will convert all two-double-bed rooms into two-queen-bed configurations. The redesigned rooms will follow a style that combines modern minimalism with mid-century influences. The design will focus on clean lines, neutral tones and natural textures. Queen rooms will include warm orange accents while king rooms will feature deep teal tones.

Each renovated room will include contemporary furnishings, redesigned bathrooms with either a standing shower or a shower and tub combination, new mattresses, mini-refrigerators, upgraded lighting and enhanced connectivity with USB and USB-C charging outlets. Accessible rooms will also include automated curtain controls along with additional ADA-compliant enhancements.

Several renovated floors are already open ahead of the holiday travel season. These include high-floor guest rooms and suites. Many of these rooms offer views of LAX runways or nearby entertainment landmarks tied to the surrounding venue district.

The renovation project is scheduled for full completion before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup which begins next June at SoFi Stadium. The hotel’s location near major transportation infrastructure and large-scale event venues places it in close proximity to projected travel activity related to upcoming global events.

The hotel expects to serve a wide range of guests during this period, including international travelers, business travelers, families, sports fans, concertgoers and media. The updated guest room design and room amenities are intended to support extended stays as well as short-term travel connected to these events.

Hilton Los Angeles Airport is undertaking this project as Los Angeles prepares for an extended cycle of global arrivals tied to international sporting competitions over multiple consecutive years. The renovation represents a full-room transformation covering all guest accommodations across the property.
