Hilton Buenos Aires welcomes new GM

Hilton has announced the appointment of Mariano Cannello as the new general manager of Hilton Buenos Aires.

Over the course of his career, Cannello has worked in five countries and across 13 hotels, including seven Hilton properties spanning airport, resort and urban destinations. He started as a front desk agent at Hilton Buenos Aires before relocating to France, where he held operational leadership roles at three hotels in Paris and later transitioned into revenue management. His next assignment with Hilton was the opening of Hilton Vilamoura Golf Resort & Spa in Portugal.

Following some projects at other companies in Italy, he returned to Hilton in 2015 as director of revenue management for the opening of Hilton Barra Rio de Janeiro. Subsequently, he rejoined Hilton Buenos Aires as commercial director. Most recently, Cannello served as regional director of sales & marketing for South America at Hilton, where he supported 22 hotels across five countries and six brands.

“We are delighted to welcome Mariano back to Hilton Buenos Aires,” said Pablo Torres, area vice president, operations, Hilton. “This hotel is a flagship asset for Hilton in the region with a long‑standing track record of success. Mariano’s deep understanding of the market, proven leadership and genuine passion for hospitality make him exceptionally well-positioned to lead this next chapter. We are confident he will bring both strategic vision and the warmth and care that define outstanding leadership for our guests and team members alike.”

“Returning to Hilton Buenos Aires as general manager is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Cannello. “This is my hometown and the hotel where my hospitality career began, so returning feels like coming full circle. I am excited to work alongside this outstanding team to build on the hotel’s legacy, elevate the guest experience and ensure Hilton Buenos Aires continues to be the preferred choice for both business and leisure travelers visiting the city.”

With more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Cannello will focus on enhancing the hotel’s culinary offerings, guest experience and signature service.
