Highline Hospitality adds Pittsburgh Marriott North, Avion to manage

Highline Hospitality Partners has acquired the Pittsburgh Marriott North. The transaction marks the company’s 17th hotel acquisition and its first investment in Pennsylvania.

The 298-room property is located in the Cranberry submarket at the entrance to the Cranberry Woods Office Park, approximately 20 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh. The hotel includes about 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom. On-site amenities include a full-service restaurant, a grab-and-go market, a Starbucks kiosk, an indoor pool and a fitness center.

Following the acquisition, Highline Hospitality oversees a portfolio of 17 hotels with more than 4,600 guestrooms and more than $1 billion in hospitality assets under management. The company also provides third-party asset management for four additional hotels for an institutional ownership group. This brings the total number of properties overseen by Highline to 21.

Highline has engaged Avion Hospitality to manage the hotel. The appointment expands the partnership between the two firms.

Reception at Pittsburgh Marriott North.

“We are excited to add the Pittsburgh Marriott North to our portfolio and to expand our relationship with Avion,” said Chuck Pomerantz, managing partner of Highline Hospitality Partners. “This institutionally owned, high-quality asset is a strong addition given its strategic location in Cranberry Township and the diverse, stable demand generators that support the submarket. We believe the property is well positioned to deliver durable cash flow and long-term value as we continue expanding into new markets nationwide.”

The hotel was delivered in 2003 and has remained institutionally owned and maintained. It has received capital investment in recent years. Highline plans to pursue targeted renovations focused on guestrooms in the coming years to enhance its competitive positioning.
