ALCALA DE GUADAIRA, SPAIN Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement to convert Hacienda La Boticaria, an Andalucian-style retreat near Seville, into a luxury Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts property.
Hilton has already begun operating the 133-key resort, which will reflag as Waldorf Astoria Sevilla at La Boticaria, sometime this summer. It will be the brand’s first property in Spain.
Located in Alcala de Guadaira, about 20 minutes from Seville city center and San Pablo Airport, the property originally opened in 2004.
“Waldorf Astoria Sevilla at La Boticaria will be a wonderful addition to our growing brand portfolio, offering a truly unique guest experience,” says John Vanderslice, global head of Hilton’s luxury and lifestyle brands. “The property will be a warm and inviting hideaway, where guests will discover the delights of the Andalusian lifestyle while enjoying exceptional facilities, only minutes from Seville and many local attractions.”
The hacienda contains six private courtyard gardens of Andalucian, Egyptian and Arabian styles where guests can relax in peaceful tranquility. It has one of Europe’s largest hotel spa facilities with a variety of treatment and relaxation rooms, plus several indoor and outdoor pools.
An on-site equestrian center is home to 16 thoroughbred Spanish horses and an antique carriage museum, with horse-and-carriage rides available. The property also boasts a helipad and a golf driving range.
Waldorf Astoria Sevilla at La Boticaria will be the brand’s fifth property in Europe, joining Rome Cavalieri and Trianon Palace Versailles, plus the soon-to-open London Syon Park and Waldorf Astoria Berlin.
Hilton’s portfolio includes more than 200 hotels in Europe and six properties in Spain, in Madrid, Barcelona, Toledo and Mallorca.
