Gleneagles Hotel to be put up for sale

Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland is lined up for sale after its owner Diageo announced that it has received numerous expressions of interest since the 2014 Ryder’s Cup golf tournament. The Scotsman reports that the resort along with its three gold courses could be sold for more than £200 million (US$301.2 million).

KSL Capital Group is reportedly interested in the property, which owns another Ryder Cup venue, The Belfry.

Diageo attempted to sell the 850-acre hotel site in 1998, but offers failed to meet expectations of about £100 million (US$150.6 million).
