Former W in Atlanta to open as JW Marriott Atlanta Downtown this spring

JW Marriott Atlanta Downtown will open in spring 2026, a conversion of the former W Atlanta Downtown. Operated by Denver-based Stonebridge companies, the hotel wil have 237 guestrooms and suites along with redesigned public spaces in the city’s core.

Texas-based Looney & Associates led the design, drawing inspiration from Atlanta’s railway heritage, tree-lined streets and cultural diversity. An entry vestibule and reflective art installation set the tone for interiors that combine stone, warm woods and integrated lighting.

A 360-degree lobby bar is located at the center of the hotel. An Italian-inspired lobby restaurant and expanded market are adjacent, featuring wood plank detailing and textured glass sconces. The Executive Lounge offers 24/7 access to seating and workspaces.

On the rooftop, there is an all-weather pool bar. The JW Marriott’s garden provides herbs for use across the hotel’s dining venues. Additional facilities include a spa, fitness center and an elevated boardroom overlooking Ted Turner Drive. Meeting spaces have been updated, including JW’s Blank Canvas Room, a gallery-like venue with wood floors and white walls.

The hotel combines wellness-focused guestrooms, redesigned public areas and rooftop amenities, reflecting Atlanta’s urban landscape and cultural identity.
