Scott Miller, the former global director of interior design firm AvroKO and who was previously director of North America for London-based 1508, has launched Ensemble, a new hospitality design and strategy studio predicated on an idea of viewing and articulating projects through both the guest and owner lens.
Its debuting with three notable projects (more specifics follow below): The Paradise Valley Hotel & Casitas, a new-build boutique hotel in Scottsdale, Ariz.; a fine-dining restaurant located adjacent to Four Seasons Hotel Boston; and what is being described as a “celebrity-backed” private wellness club in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood.
Additional luxury hotel projects have yet to be announced.
The Ensemble mission, it says, is informed by development and operational insight, allowing projects to move seamlessly from concept to execution. “The firm goes against the grain of cookie-cutter spaces by bringing together a collective of senior specialists with the varied expertise and discerning taste to create spaces that feel elevated, intuitive and entirely original,” a press statement read.
Having Miller at the helm gives it both credibility and cachet: He has more than 20 years of experience including collabs with brands such as Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Six Senses and Rosewood. He’s also collaborated with developers including Related Companies, Tishman Speyer, Extell, PMG and Brookfield.

“After two decades in hospitality design, I’ve found that owners are increasingly drawn to design partners who are truly collaborative and who deeply understand the needs of developers and operators, as well as the expectations of today’s luxury guest,” said Miller. “Ensemble was built to address that directly, bringing together senior specialists with deep experience across luxury hotels, members’ clubs and food and beverage to ensure the next wave of properties has a distinct point of view and truly delivers on its promise to guests.”
Other key Ensemble personnel include Director of Design Operations Andrés Lamos, whose experience spans luxury hospitality operations and design leadership roles at AvroKO, Meyer Davis and Pelli Clarke Pelli; Candace Hickman, design director, with more than 20 years of experience leading hospitality and high-end residential interiors, having joined Ensemble from Soho House and Co.; Creative Director Nicole Campion, who was formerly design director at Auberge Resorts and AvroKO; and Chris Johnson, project director, F&B operations, whose career spans major global cities and leading firms, including Union Square Hospitality and AvroKO.

Ensemble’s debut portfolio is now underway.
At the Paradise Valley Hotel & Casitas, Ensemble was tapped to create the identity and design the public spaces for the luxury property in Paradise Valley, Ariz., owned and developed by Walton Global, with Noble House Hotels & Resorts serving as operator and Clayco as builder. The hotel’s design brief is conceived to feel more like a private residence than a traditional resort, notably expressed in the sculptural reception desk.
Past the lobby lies the courtyard, creating a seamless transition between intimate interior spaces and expansive outdoor environments. The courtyard connects to the hotel’s restaurant and bar, reinforcing a sense of effortless movement and layered discovery throughout the property.
“We were drawn to the desert’s inherent duality – its striking clarity by day, and its more seductive, atmospheric presence after dark,” said Hickman. “Throughout the property, crisp architectural gestures are balanced by tactile materials, sculptural forms, and a moodier, more intimate palette, making the hotel feel both rooted in the landscape and expressive of the quieter, more rarified luxury that defines Paradise Valley.”
Opening in 2026 will be a new American brasserie next to Four Seasons Hotel Boston, which Ensemble is leading the design of and includes a private lounge from A Street Hospitality. The restaurant unfolds as a sequential journey, inspired by the romance of luxury train travel.

Arrival begins in a reception lounge where screened walls allow glimpses into adjacent rooms, while a reflective ceiling expands the perception of space, creating a subtle infinity effect. Stainless steel forms a consistent metal language that threads throughout, interacting with burled wood, richly toned stone and revival-pattern detailing. Custom lighting and dusty aubergine hues reinforce the room’s depth and refinement.
From there, the space opens into the dining room and bar, where built-in banquettes and loose furnishings create variation in scale, while mirrors positioned at the room’s perimeter extend sightlines, evoking the feeling of looking down train cars that seem to stretch endlessly forward. Earth tones layered with greens and muted golds introduce a verdant undertone inspired by the Boston Public Garden.
“Designing a restaurant within an institution like Four Seasons Hotel Boston required a concept that was both highly transportive and deeply grounded, and the motif of luxury train travel became the perfect vehicle to carry that vision forward,” said Lamos. “We approached the space as a series of ‘rooms within rooms,’ a grand journey that unfolds over time, mirroring both the layered character of Boston and the global perspective of A Street Hospitality’s visionaries.”
In New York, Ensemble is leading the concept design for Carriage House Training, a new private luxury performance club coming to SoHo in late 2026. The club is backed by some of the most accomplished figures in professional sport, bringing genuine athletic credibility to a training concept built for everyone. The philosophy is rooted in elite methodology applied to everyday goals: members are trained like athletes regardless of where they are starting from.
