Kimpton Era Midtown New York has opened in a 33-story skyscraper developed by Extell Development Company and marking the first hospitality property under the company’s direct management through Extell Hospitality Services.
The hotel features 529 guestrooms designed as compact “jewel box” spaces with custom window seats and city views. Rooms above the 15th floor offer views of the Empire State Building and One World Trade while select north-facing rooms overlook Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue. The property also includes two suites and nine rooms with outdoor terraces.
The interiors were designed by INC Architecture & Design with architectural design by SLCE Architects. The design blends modern classicism with layered textures and contrasting tones inspired by New York’s refined and gritty character.

Dining and bar venues are operated by Apicii with four concepts across the property. The Parlor and Bar Rocco are now open while Amasa is scheduled to open in March 2026 and Jade Rabbit in April 2026. Bar Rocco is led by James Beard Award-winning chef and author Rocco DiSpirito with a menu shaped by visits to regional greenmarkets and partnerships with local farmers and purveyors.
The property also includes a 24-hour 1,375-square-foot gym equipped with Peloton bikes yoga mats and cardio equipment.
“As our first managed hospitality project under Extell Hospitality Services Kimpton Era is a testament to our commitment to best-in-class service and sophisticated design,” said Elysa Goldman, SVP of development of Extell Development Company. “We’ve worked with world-class partners to create a destination that captures the layered character of New York City and we are proud to see this vision come to life in the heart of Manhattan.”
“We aren’t just opening a hotel; we’re giving guests the keys to find their own rhythm in the heartbeat of Manhattan,” said Kori Yoran, MD. “New York isn’t just a city you visit; it’s an experience that moves at its own electric pace. Kimpton Era captures that quintessential duality–the vibrant pulse of the streets paired with a refined sanctuary that lets you catch your breath. We’ve designed every corner to be a sophisticated basecamp where the city’s many eras converge inviting our guests to dive into the hum and return to a space that feels like home.”
