Dual-branded Courtyard, Residence Inn set for Central Park

NEW YORK CITY A 67-story hotel tower, dual-branded by Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott, is in the plans for a site at Broadway and 54th Street, near New York City’s Central Park.

The project from developer Harry Gross’ Granite Broadway Development would be among the tallest hotels in the city. The hotel design by architect Nobutaka Ashihara, unearthed by Curbed, describes the plan as “two independent hotels with separate characters, selected service and extended stay, vertically stacked.”

The glass building, which has received approval from the city, will include retail and restaurants. The Courtyard portion of the hotel will be on floors seven through 31, followed by 30 floors of Residence Inn lodging.

The site is across the street from the Ed Sullivan Theater, home of “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
