Flacks Group acquires DoubleTree by Hilton Augusta

An affiliate of Flacks Group has acquired the 182-room hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Augusta in Augusta, Georgia. The company selected StepStone Hospitality to assume management of the property, with the transaction marking a continued hospitality investment by the Miami-based firm.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Augusta includes more than 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space. On-site food and beverage outlets include Jama’s Coffee Shop serving Starbucks coffee, The Lotus Bar operating in the evenings and Andrew’s Restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-room dining.

Flacks Group indicated that ownership anticipates a $12 million capital investment in the hotel. Planned improvements include updated guest rooms, upgraded public spaces, changes to food and beverage areas, new elevators and a revised reception and arrival experience.

The hotel is located in historic Augusta with access to downtown Augusta, Fort Gordon Army Base, the Joseph M Still Burn Center and local business districts. The property is also positioned near the Augusta National Golf Club and serves travelers visiting the area throughout the year.

Augusta is closely associated with golf tourism tied to the annual Masters Tournament. During this period, the city attracts visitors for multi-day stays and hosts events connected to the tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. The DoubleTree by Hilton Augusta serves travelers visiting the market during this period as well as corporate, social and leisure guests at other times of the year.
