In a major push for growth on the West Coast, Coury Holdings has secured management agreements for nine hotels across California while appointing industry veteran Bo Patel as chief operating officer.
Patel, who brings over 20 years of expertise in hospitality management, development, and investment, will spearhead operations and expansion in the region, focusing on branded full-service and select-service hotels under the Concert Hospitality division.
“Bo’s deep expertise and strong West Coast relationships make him the ideal leader to drive our expansion in California,” said Paul Coury, founder and CEO of Coury Holdings. “His leadership will be instrumental in positioning us as a dominant force in the branded hotel sector, delivering exceptional value to our ownership partners and elevated experiences for our guests.”
Patel’s appointment marks a key step in Coury Holdings’ expansion strategy. His career includes leadership roles at Evolution Hospitality, where he co-founded the company and oversaw its growth before its acquisition by Aimbridge Hospitality. Patel also served as VP of finance at Tarsadia Hotels and previously managed a $1B+ real estate portfolio for a family office.
West Coast Expansion
The addition of these nine properties strengthens Coury Holdings’ presence across Northern and Southern California, adding nearly 1,500 rooms and a mix of lifestyle and branded accommodations.
The nine new additions in California include:
San Diego: The Hilton Garden Inn Old Town, Hampton Inn Mission Valley, Homewood Suites Mission Valley, and Homewood Suites Hotel Circle bring 726 rooms to the market, along with multiple dining venues, outdoor pools, and fitness centers.
Palm Springs: The DoubleTree Palm Springs (289 rooms) features Mira Bar & Lounge and Polanco Kitchen, with scenic mountain views.
Meanwhile, Coury Hospitality, the lifestyle division of Coury Holdings, has expanded its curated portfolio with four new management agreements in the Bay Area:
TETRA Hotel, Autograph Collection (Sunnyvale): A modern retreat with 186 rooms, 14 suites, a pool deck, and a California-inspired restaurant, Adrestia.
Hotel Citrine, Tribute Portfolio (Palo Alto): A sustainability-focused property with 150 rooms and Wild Onion Bistro & Bar, offering farm-to-table dining.
AC Hotel Palo Alto (Palo Alto): This 144-room hotel features European-inspired dining at AC Kitchen and handcrafted cocktails at AC Lounge.
AC Hotel Sunnyvale (Sunnyvale): Located in Moffett Park, this property boasts minimalist design, LEED Silver Certification, and a vibrant lounge experience.
“We are thrilled to expand both Coury Hospitality and Concert Hospitality with these strategic management agreements in California, further strengthening our presence on the West Coast,” Coury told HOTELS.
Concert Hospitality was launched with a clear mission and the company’s rapid growth reflects its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences,” he said.
“While core brands follow programmatic standards, we bring Coury’s signature culture — where genuine hospitality professionals deliver thoughtful, intuitive service that creates meaningful connections with guests. This not only enhances the guest experience but also maximizes asset value, increasing profitability for owners. By infusing a lifestyle-driven mindset into traditionally hard brands, we are redefining industry expectations and unlocking new potential.”
