Conrad adds in NYC: Hilton’s Conrad Hotels & Resorts has opened the Conrad New York Midtown, the second of the brand in the city. The 54-floor, 562-suite is located at 151 West 54th St., the former site of The London NYC. The company describes the design as more like a metropolitan pied-a-terre than a traditional New York hotel room, with “innately residential” touches. NYC-based Stonehill Taylor designed the hotel with a jewel-tone palette, herringbone wood floors, wool rugs and Carrera marble bathrooms.
Floor plans range from 500-square-foot one-bedroom suites to a 3,000-square-foot, two-story penthouse. The premium suite on the 54th floor is two stories, with wrap-around views of Central Park and Manhattan; a fireplace; a floating staircase leading to two master bedrooms with king beds, walk-in closets and marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, all with city views. The hotel has created a “junket floor” with four television shooting suites, green room and control room for entertainment industry purposes. And it has an art collection including pieces by hyperrealist contemporary artist Carole A. Feuerman, a Henri Matisse lithograph and two original Andy Warhol silkscreens.
F&B: Dabble, located off the lobby, offers light fare and cocktails. Next to it is Plume, a private dining room and event space accommodating up to 100 guests; there also are six additional private meeting and event spaces.
ADR averages US$550.
