EDINBURGH The six hotels of the Scotland-based City Inn chain are being rebranded as Mint Hotel, which executives say is a more memorable name that better reflects the hotels’ brand promise.
Mint Hotel also announces the upcoming openings of hotels in London and Amsterdam over the next few months. The new properties will add more than 1,000 guestrooms, nearly doubling the group’s existing portfolio.
Founded in 1995, the group has properties in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow. “We’ve got an exciting, ambitious hotel company. We’ve got fantastic things that we offer all of our customers, and the name City Inn simply didn’t reflect all that we do,” says Mint Hotel CEO David Orr. “We felt that the name City Inn was holding us back.”
The 583-key Mint Hotel Tower of London, set to open December 20, will join an existing London property at Westminster. A 533-key Mint Hotel will open in Amsterdam in the spring, marking the brand’s debut beyond the United Kingdom.
The company bases its reputation on offering quality, innovation, outstanding customer service and good value. Mint Hotels offer Apple iMacs in every room and free WiFi.
