Capella-managed Setai Fifth Avenue opens in Manhattan

NEW YORK CITY The Setai Fifth Avenue, managed by Capella Hotels and Resorts, is now open in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.

The new 214-key hotel boasts some of the most spacious guestrooms in Manhattan—most are 700 sq. ft. or larger—along with a new restaurant from acclaimed Chef Michael White called Ai Fiori. Other amenities include a Julien Farel Salon, an Auriga spa, a fitness center, meeting space and a street-level pub called Bar on Fifth.

The property is Capella’s seventh and its second in North America, joining Capella Telluride, Colorado.

Guestrooms feature Duxiana beds, Pratesi linens and custom-built desks. Expansive, faceted windows project onto the street, flooding the rooms with natural light, while a touch of a button draws drapes closed for privacy. Baths are clad in stone and walnut veneer, with deep-soaking tubs by Zuma, rain showers and televisions inset into the bathroom mirrors.

The hotel’s 54 suites each have a separate bedroom and living room. Furnished kitchens feature full-sized refrigerators, stoves and appliances by Miele. There are also three two-bedroom penthouse suites.

Designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates, The Setai Fifth Avenue hotel shares its 60-story tower with The Setai Fifth Avenue Residences, a luxury condominium by developer Bizzi & Partners and designed by DAS Concepts Inc.
