Briefs: YOTEL to open in Thailand, Renaissance Hotels debuts in Portugal

YOTEL’S DEBUT IN THAILAND: YOTEL, the London-based hospitality brand, will debut in Thailand with the signing of YOTEL Bangkok. The new-built hotel, expected to open in 2025, will be a part of Cloud 11. Cloud 11 is a ground-up, mixed-use construction and will feature a big rooftop park dubbed the “green lung of Bangkok.” Snøhetta designed the project in cooperation with A49 Architects for Magnolia Quality Development Corp. Ltd. This is YOTEL’s third signing of the year, and it is part of the company’s strategy to have 50 hotels by 2025. YOTEL Bangkok will offer 250 rooms, the brand’s signature robotic concierge, multi-functional dining and co-working space, a fitness center, a grab-and-go snack station and two meeting hubs. Designed with open and green spaces, the hotel will be located at the center of the tech-focused Cloud 11. The hotel joins YOTEL’s existing properties in Asia — YOTEL Singapore Orchard Road and YOTELAIR Changi.

RENAISSANCE HOTELS TO PORTUGAL: Renaissance Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of 31 hotel brands, has launched in Portugal with the opening of Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel. Located in the Lapa neighborhood in Porto, the 163-room new hotel offers panoramic views of the city skyline. The property’s architecture was led by local architecture company Visioarq Arquitectos, with interior designers of Broadway Malyan being commissioned to design the hotel. The hotel features a restaurant and two bars, an outdoor heated infinity pool, a gym and more than 5,850 square feet of flexible event space with six meeting rooms. Marriott’s Renaissance Hotels brand has more than 170 properties across 40 countries.

HYATT OPENS FOUR RESORTS IN BULGARIA: Hyatt Hotels Corp. has opened four new all-inclusive resorts along the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria. This marks the launch of the Inclusive Collection in a third European country after Spain and Greece. The four new properties include the 335-key adults-only Secrets Sunny Beach Resort & Spa, the 597-key family-friendly Dreams Sunny Beach Resort & Spa, the 192-room AluaSun Helios Beach and the 318-key Alua Helios Bay. These coastal properties boost Hyatt’s presence in Bulgaria and join the existing Hyatt Regency Sofia and Hyatt Regency Pravents Resort, which will open later this year.

SPRINGBOARD HOSPITALITY ADDS ARIZONA HOTEL: Springboard Hospitality has added Hotel St. Michael in Prescott, Ariz., to its management portfolio. Situated in the downtown, the 70-room hotel is located close to Fort Whipple Museum and the Courthouse Plaza. The original red brick structure of the historic hotel was built in 1901. The hotel includes a casual eatery and multiple boutique shops. Currently, Springboard Hospitality has a portfolio of 47 independent and branded properties across 13 states in the U.S.

ACCOR PARTNERS WITH OPERA AUSTRALIA: Accor has announced its gold partnership with Opera Australia, the performing arts company. As part of the partnership, Accor will be the preferred accommodation partner for Opera Australia throughout the current season. The partnership unlocks special experiences for ALL members, including backstage tours, exclusive walk-on roles for one of Opera Australia’s upcoming productions and VIP tickets. Cast and crew from the productions will stay at Accor hotels at Opera Australia’s metropolitan and performance locations. Opera Australia presents over 600 performances every year and performs operas, concerts and musicals in multiple venues, including Sydney Opera House, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and Arts Centre Melbourne. Accor has hotels under 19 brands across Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia and Fiji.
