WORLDHOTELS ADDS SECOND HOTEL IN TOKYO: WorldHotels has grown its presence in Tokyo with the addition of its second hotel in the city. WorldHotels has added Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport, Tokyo. Connected directly to the Haneda Airport, the hotel has 1,557 rooms in 12 categories. The hotel provides access to the Tokyo monorail, which can take guests directly to Tokyo in 15 minutes. The hotel has been added to WorldHotels’ Distinctive collection in Asia Pacific and is now part of the WorldHotels Rewards loyalty program.

HOTEL INDIGO’S FIRST HOTEL IN MELBOURNE: IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened its third Hotel Indigo in Australia in partnership with Pro-invest Group. Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders marks the debut of the Hotel Indigo brand in Melbourne. Pro-invest Group owns and operates the boutique lifestyle hotel on Flinders Lane, which has 216 redesigned rooms. The rooms and interiors are inspired by the Flinders Lane neighborhood, particularly by fashion photographer Helmut Newton, whose original studio was nearby. The hotel’s interiors have been designed by Australian-based Suede Interiors. Amenities at the hotel include a bar and restaurant, a mezzanine-level fitness center (set to open in October) and meeting and event areas for up to 200 guests (slated to be completed in early 2024). Hotel Indigo has 143 hotels open globally, with 128 more in the pipeline. With hotels in Brisbane and Adelaide, Hotel Indigo will open in Sydney by the end of the year.
WARAMAUG ACQUIRES ATLANTA MARRIOTT PEACHTREE CORNERS: Waramaug Hospitality has acquired the Atlanta Marriott Peachtree Corners in Atlanta. The 222-room hotel has a fitness center, indoor swimming pool, outdoor fire pit seating area and more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space spread across nine rooms. The property, located within the 500-acre Technology Park, will be managed by Aimbridge Hospitality. The hotel is the second full-service Marriott hotel and the 16th Marriott-branded property in Waramaug’s portfolio. Waramaug has acquired more than $1 Billion in hotel assets, including over 10,000 rooms and over 60 properties.
EXTENDED STAY AMERICA OPENS IN IDAHO: Extended Stay America has announced the opening of the Extended Stay Premier Suites Boise-Idaho located in Meridian, Idaho. The hotel was developed by RREAF Holdings and will be managed by Aimbridge Hospitality. The new four-story hotel features a fitness room, onsite guest laundry and a signature lobby with more vending options. All suites include fully equipped kitchens with full-size refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, cookware and dishes and signature bedding, workspace and recliners. Currently, Extended Stay America has more than 700 hotels in the U.S.
FARANDA HOTELS EXPANDS IN LATIN AMERICA: Faranda Hotels & Resorts has expanded in Latin America and has added two hotels to its portfolio. GHS Global Hospitality Services, the operating unit of Faranda Hotels & Resorts in Colombia, has closed operating contracts for Aloft Bogota Airport in Colombia and Aloft San Jose in Costa Rica. Both the hotels were earlier managed by Dorado Investment and will continue their management and activities within the action plan in collaboration with GHS. With the addition of these two properties, GHS now operates 28 hotels and marks its entry into Costa Rica. As part of its expansion, GHS will open Faranda Collection-branded hotels in Medellin, Cucuta and Cartagena this year, adding more than 400 rooms to its portfolio.
