WAYNESVILLE INN & GOLF CLUB OPENS AFTER RENOVATIONS: Raines has announced the opening of the newly-renovated Waynesville Inn & Golf Club in Waynesville, N.C. Florence, S.C.-based Raines partnered with Bobby Weed Golf Design to renovate the property. Dating back to a local dairy farm in the 1920s, Waynesville Inn & Golf Club has witnessed many milestones. Raines acquired the property in April 2021 and began a two-year-long renovation and rebranding under the direction of Woven by Raines, a company unit providing development and management approaches to boutique properties. Spread over 165 acres, the property consists of 72 rooms, an 18-hole golf course and practice facilities, 6,000 square feet of the event area, multiple dining options, a fitness center, an outdoor pool and a business center. Raines’ portfolio comprises 43 hotels totaling 4,386 keys across Southeast U.S.

WYNDHAM ALLTRA TO OPEN IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Wyndham Alltra will open its newest resort, the Wyndham Alltra Samana, in the Dominican Samana Peninsula on December 1. The 404-room resort will be managed by Playa Hotels & Resorts and will be Wyndham Alltra’s first-ever property in the Dominican Republic. Located in the northeast region of the Samana peninsula, the all-inclusive resort will open after extensive renovations to its rooms and public spaces. The resort will feature a private beachfront, live entertainment, four pools and around 12 dining options. Wyndham Alltra is Wyndham’s all-inclusive brand in the upper-midscale segment and includes dining options and a range of activities.

TEMPO BY HILTON OPENS FIRST HOTEL: Tempo by Hilton has debuted with the opening of the Tempo by Hilton Times Square. Located in TSX Broadway, the new 46-story building includes experiential retail, entertainment spaces and the Palace Theatre. Designed by Wimberly Interiors and architect Mancini Duffy, the 36-story hotel consists of 661 rooms, F&B outlets, nine wellness rooms and a gran-and-go station. Hilton will add close to 2,000 rooms to its portfolio with the opening of Tempo by Hilton Times Square and the upcoming openings of Motto by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton and Hampton by Hilton in Times Square this summer. Tempo by Hilton, Hilton’s newest lifestyle brand, currently has 35 properties under development and will launch in more destinations like Nashville, Raleigh, San Diego and Louisville.

HEI ADDS ALOFT PHOENIX-AIRPORT TO MANAGEMENT PORTFOLIO: Norwalk, Conn.-based HEI Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of the Aloft Phoenix-Airport in Phoenix, Ariz. The 143-key hotel was recently acquired by RADCO Companies. Located adjacent to the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the hotel includes an outdoor swimming pool, 588 square feet of meeting space, a lobby bar, a fitness center and an airport shuttle. HEI currently manages more than 100 luxury, upper-upscale and upscale independent and branded properties across the U.S.

PARADISUS BY MELIÁ ADDS IN SPAIN: Paradisus by Meliá, the luxury, all-inclusive hotel brand by Meliá Hotels International, has opened its second hotel in Spain — Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote. This is Paradisus by Meliá’s second hotel in Europe. Designed by Spanish architect Fernando Higueras, the adults-only luxury hotel has been declared an Artistic and Cultural Heritage site in Lanzarote. The hotel consists of 282 rooms and villas, a 1,800-square-meter pool, seven dining outlets and tropical gardens designed by César Manrique. The hotel also provides direct access to the beach, a spa, a gym, meeting rooms, a tennis court and rooms with private pools. Paradisus by Meliá has properties in the Dominican Republic and Gran Canaria. The hotel is among the assets under Victoria Hotels & Resorts, the alternative investment vehicle and a collaboration between Meliá Hotels, Bankinter Investment and GMA.
