MARRIOTT SIGNS W HOTELS IN SINGAPORE: Marriott International, Inc. has signed an agreement with Malaysia-based IOI Properties Group to bring the W Hotels brand to downtown Singapore. W Singapore – Marina View will be a new hotel offering 350 rooms. The hotel will open within a 51-story mixed-use development. Housed atop the hotel will be Marina View Residences, which will have a suite of high-end apartments. Construction is slated to begin by the end of this year, with the hotel expected to open in late 2028. The architecture of W Singapore – Marina View will be led by Architects 61, with Hachem Design designing the interiors. The hotel will feature a WET deck, fitness center, spa and multiple dining and social spaces.

AUSTRALIA’S FIRST AIRPORT RESORT: Australia is set to open its first airport resort on December 5, following the reimagination and integration of two existing airport hotels at Darwin Airport. Novotel & Mercure Darwin Airport Resort will open following a $30 million investment by the Airport Development Group, which also owns the adjacent Darwin Airport. The revitalization of the properties includes the transformation of the two hotels with the refurbishment of the rooms and the addition of pool villas, suites and bungalows. Earlier, the hotels had separate receptions but now feature a combined reception area. The revitalized property also includes a new 60-meter (one-million-liter) swimming pool, poolside cabanas, a kid’s aquatic playground and a new poolside dining area. Collectively, the hotels offer 423 rooms.
U.S. PERFORMANCE UPDATE: Hotel performance in the U.S. declined from the previous week, as expected in the Thanksgiving holiday, according to CoStar’s data through November 25.

Among the top 25 markets, Oahu Island posted the highest YOY lifts in occupancy (+9.4% to 76.3%) and RevPAR (+16.3% to $227.92). Las Vegas posted the highest ADR increase (+10 % to $158.13). The steepest RevPAR declines were recorded in Minneapolis (-18.8% to $38.93) and San Francisco (-11.4% to $65.99).
UNDER CANVAS JOINS SMALL LUXURY HOTELS: Under Canvas, the upscale, outdoor hospitality company, has partnered with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), which is a global collection of more than 540 independent luxury hotels. The addition of nine Under Canvas properties and the first ULUM resort marks the first outdoor resort brand for the boutique, luxury hotel group. SLH offers a curated selection of hotels in more than 90 countries. Under Canvas has also announced the appointment of Libbie Rice to the executive team in a new role as chief commercial officer. Under Canvas offers upscale, safari-inspired tents featuring king-size beds, USB charging docks, bedside lanterns, private decks, wood-burning stoves and ensuite bathrooms.
SONESTA OPENS MOD HOTEL IN CANADA: Sonesta International Hotels Corp. has opened Hotel 11, MOD a Sonesta Collection in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Offering views of the Rocky Mountains, the hotel offers 155 rooms and is close to the Calgary International Airport. This is the first MOD property, Sonesta’s latest upscale soft brand in Calgary. The hotel includes an on-site business center, a heated indoor pool and a fitness center. Currently, Sonesta has 1,200 properties totaling 100,000 rooms under 17 brands across eight countries.
