Briefs: Tribute Portfolio arrives in Brazil; Avani Hotels in Singapore

TRIBUTE PORTFOLIO ARRIVES IN BRAZIL: Marriott International and the Fametro Group, led by Wellington Lins and Maria do Carmo Seffair, have inked an agreement to convert the Tropical Hotel Manaus, Brazil to a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. This marks the arrival of the brand in Brazil. The existing hotel will retail elements of its original architecture. Originally opened in 1976, the iconic, colonial-style hotel has hosted several celebrities. The hotel will have a phased reopening at the end of the year and will feature a large wave pool, gym, spa, sports courts, kid’s center and meeting rooms in its initial phases. Later phases will see the opening of food and beverage options, including a restaurant with a panoramic view of the Rio Negro. Later stages of renovation will add an orchidarium, a chapel and pier for vessels navigating Amazon’s Rio Negro. Tribute Portfolio’s global portfolio includes around 120 hotels across 25 countries.

AVANI HOTELS TO DEBUT IN SINGAPORE: Minor Hotels has announced plans to debut its Avani Hotels & Resorts brand in Singapore. Slated to welcome guests from the first quarter of 2027, the 13-story upscale hotel is part of Minor’s strategy to establish its presence in key global destinations. Minor has joined hands with Singapore’s Kajima Development and Abu Dhabi-based Alwathba Investment to develop the hotel. Located on 24 Peck Seah Street, the 200-key hotel will be a part of the Historic District’s next chapter. Launched in 2011, Avani Hotels & Resorts operates 42 properties across 24 countries and is aiming to reach 100 hotels and resorts by the end of 2026. The brand will be opening properties in Thailand, the Seychelles and China this year.

PANDOX ACQUIRES THREE LONDON HOTELS: Pandox AB has completed the acquisition of three aparthotels totaling 503 keys in central London for a combined £230 million. The sellers are controlled affiliates of Starwood Capital. All three hotels are freeholds. The three properties — Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington; Residence Inn by Marriott London Bridge and Residence Inn by Marriott Tower Bridge — are operated by Axiom Hospitality under a management deal. The purchase was funded by available cash funds and a new green bank loan. The hotels are initially expected to contribute £34 million in revenue and £17 million in net operating income on an annualized basis. These three hotels join Pandox’s portfolio in London, where the group already owned three hotels in the greater London area.

JACKSON HOLE HOTEL COMPLETES RENOVATIONS: The Lodge at Jackson Hole in Jackson, Wyo. has completed a three-year, $8-million renovation under the ownership of Athos Capital Partners, which acquired the 154-key hotel in 2019. Located 12 miles from Grand Teton and an hour from Yellowstone National Parks, the hotel offers indoor/outdoor heated pools with jetted tubs and sauna, dining venues, a fitness room with spa treatments, and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space. The design of the hotel’s common spaces and rooms was led by WRJ, with the rooms featuring photography by local photographer Jeremy Hutchison. The hotel also collaborated with the Jackson Hole Historical Society to develop a curated art program for the hotel’s common areas.
