THE ADDRESS OPENS IN GLASGOW: The Address Collective, the family-owned Irish hospitality group, has added the fifth property to its portfolio with the opening of The Address Glasgow. Located in Glasgow’s Renfield Street, the 95-bed hotel is The Address Collective’s first venture beyond Ireland. Originally built in the 1890s, a classically listed building was renovated to reopen as the luxury hotel. The Address Collective invested more than £9 million ($11.38 million) to refurbish the six-story building. The hotel includes 70-seater restaurant and cocktail bar, gym, along with a wellness center with a bespoke sauna, spa and plunge pool.

DUSIT TO REOPEN BANGKOK HOTEl: Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the hotel vertical of Thailand-based Dusit International, will reopen its Dusit Thani Bangkok in September. Situated in the same location as the original property, which was open from 1970 to 2019, the reimagined version of Dusit’s flagship luxury hotel will offer a new take on the former hotel. The hotel is located within the Dusit Central Park, a THB46 million ($1.28 billion) mixed-use development which also houses ultra-luxury Dusit-branded residences, an office tower, a retail center and an 11,200-square-meter Roof Park. The newly constructed, 39-story hotel has been reconstructed and features fewer rooms (257 keys, down from the original 517), which have been designed by Asian interior design company André Fu Studio. The hotel’s architecture was led by Architects 49 International Ltd. and OMA Asia Hong Kong Ltd. The hotel includes more than 5,000 square meters of banqueting and meeting facilities, several dining options, a rooftop bar and a spa. Many signature design elements of the ormer Dusit Thani Bangkok have been retained, such as the golden spire, artworks by local artists, teakwood décor and historical ornaments.
MARRIOTT ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORT IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Marriott International has added to its All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio with the signing of Marriott Miches Beach, An All-Inclusive Resort in the Dominican Republic. This will be Marriott’s first all-inclusive offering in the Dominican Republic. Earlier operating as the Sunrise Miches Beach Resort, the property will undergo a conversion process from Q2 2024 and will reopen as a Marriott-branded hotel in Q1 2025. Spanning 62 acres in Miches, the resort offers 1,000 feet of beachfront. The property will have 498 rooms with balconies and terraces, with some rooms including private swim-up pools. The resort will also consist of six restaurants, three pop-up venues, bars, a jacuzzi lounge, spa with over 10 treatment rooms, gym, retail area and 8,600 square feet of indoor meeting space.
RENOVATIONS AT PORTOLA HOTEL: Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey, Calif. has launched a $1.83 million renovation to its event spaces. The refurbishment revitalizes 16,488 square feet of event space. Drawing inspiration from the Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row, the transformation was led by RoseBernard Studio. Renovations to the De Anza Ballroom’s 10,655 square feet, the De Anza Foyer’s 3,287 square feet and the Bonsai Ballroom’s 2,546 square feet include new carpet and wall covers, elevated décor, restored crown moldings and updated light fixtures. Portola Hotel offers 379 rooms and 60,000 feet of meeting space with the adjacent Monterey Conference Center.
