Briefs: TFE Hotels adds in Australia; IHG expands in India

TFE HOTELS SIGNS IN BRISBANE: TFE Hotels, the Australia-based hospitality company, has signed Adina Apartment Hotel Chermside Brisbane. Designed by WMK, the new-build hotel will open in July 2025. Located in the Chermside suburb of Brisbane, the 148-key hotel will have an all-day dining restaurant, a café/bar, a lobby lounge, a meeting room, a fitness center, car parking and rainwater harvesting facilities. The hotel is owned by Limitless Developments, a South-East Queensland-based company. Adina Chermside adds to Adina’s existing portfolio of 40 hotels in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Europe. Adina also has branded residences in Melbourne and Geneva, which opened in 2023.

IHG EXPANDS IN INDIA: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Yuvaan Developers Pvt. Ltd. for a Holiday Inn-branded hotel in India’s northeastern region. Slated to open in January 2028, Holiday Inn Guwahati marks IHG’s expansion strategy in secondary markets. The new-build, 150-key hotel will be located along Azara Road in Guwahati and feature three dining venues, a fitness center, a pool, four meeting rooms and a banquet hall. At present, IHG has 45 hotels operating under five brands in India, with a pipeline of another 45 properties set to open in the next three to five years.

HILTON ARLINGTON NATIONAL LANDING RELAUNCHES: Hilton Arlington National Landing has reopened after undergoing a nine-month, multi-million-dollar refurbishment. Renovations included an overhaul of the 393 tech-forward guestrooms, an updated National Landing Hub with meeting and lounge areas, ballrooms and a lobby. The hotel has 14 ‘Room 2 Work’ rooms with a built-in desktop monitor, a wireless keyboard, mouse and charger catering to business travelers. The property offers a full-service restaurant and bar, a fitness center and on-site parking. The hotel is close to the National Landing, which houses Amazon’s second headquarters and Virginia Tech’s upcoming Innovation Campus.

THE RITZ-CARLTON ADDS IN DALLAS: The Ritz-Carlton has expanded its collection with the addition of The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas. Formerly known as Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, the hotel has undergone $55 million renovations following its acquisition in 2022 through a joint venture between Trinity Investments and Partners Group. Spanning 400 acres, the hotel is situated on a former family ranch close to downtown Dallas. The property includes two 18-hole golf courses, with The Nelson Sports and Golf Club lying adjacent. Located in the Las Colinas hills, the hotel’s renovations are being led by design firms Jeffrey Beers International and Leo A Daly. The initial set of renovations includes a new lobby bar, enhancements to the 427 rooms, new meeting spaces and updated ballroom facilities. Upcoming refurbishments will see the opening of two dining concepts, the transition of the 14,000-square-foot salon and spa into The Ritz-Carlton Spa, enhancements to the pool and the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Club. At present, Ritz-Carlton operates over 110 hotels in 35 countries.

HYATT REGENCY CHICAGO UNDERGOES RENOVATIONS: Hyatt Regency Chicago has been undergoing a $102 million phased renovation, slated to be completed this spring. The renovation will see enhancements to all 2,032 rooms and suites. The rooms feature an open design and modern furniture. Chicago’s largest hotel and the largest Hyatt hotel globally, Hyatt Regency Chicago includes more than 240,000 square feet of meeting space and four dining concepts. As part of the planned renovations, the Regency and Crystal Ballrooms will also be upgraded. The latest upgrades come on the heels of a $168 million reimagination of the lobby and meeting space in 2013, bringing the total investment to over $270 million in less than 10 years.
