SIX SENSES SIGNS RESORT, RESIDENCES IN TELLURIDE: IHG Hotels & Resorts has added to its luxury and lifestyle portfolio and signed a new Six Senses resort in Telluride, Colo. Located just above the town in Mountain Village, Six Senses Telluride will be situated on a box canyon flanked by the 14,000-foot peaks of San Juan Mountains. The resort will have 77 rooms and 24 branded residences and is expected to open in 2028. This marks IHG’s first luxury resort and residential property in North America’s West region. The development team, led by Matthew Shear and David Jaskel at The Vault Home Collection, has worked with Six Senses to bring the brand’s outdoor and wellness-driven hospitality and residential experience to the Telluride area. The residences will range from two- to five-bedroom units, with some of them including a den. The property will feature ski concierges in winter, several dining venues, a spa, conference space, market hall and retail spaces. Currently, Six Senses operates 27 properties globally and has 40 more in its pipeline.
PLAYA SELLS JEWEL PALM BEACH: Playa Hotels & Resorts has entered into a binding agreement with an undisclosed third party to sell the Jewel Palm Beach for $68 million in cash. Playa expects the sale to be completed by the third quarter and is subject to customary closing conditions. Located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the luxury, all-inclusive resort opened around two years ago and marked the Jewel Resort brand’s debut in the Dominican Republic. Currently, Playa owns and/or manages 25 resorts, totaling 9,127 rooms.
HOTEL INDIGO-BRANDED RESORT IN OMAN: IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to open Hotel Indigo Cabal Akhdar Resort & Spa on Jebel Akhdar in Oman on September 1. Located at an altitude of 2,000 meters, the resort offers views of the valleys rolling down the Green Mountains, also known as Jebel Akhdar. The hotel features 173 rooms, suites and chalets with views of the mountain landscape. The hotel also has three restaurants, a spa and a wellness center. Part of IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, Hotel Indigo’s portfolio includes 158 properties globally, with 133 more under development.
MOXY HOTELS ARRIVES IN MUMBAI: Moxy Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands, has launched in Mumbai with the opening of Moxy Mumbai Andheri West. Located in the city’s Andheri West neighborhood, the hotel sits in a prime location amid the cinema houses and commercial hubs. The hotel features 105 rooms, a lounge and library, three dining options, a gym and two event spaces. Offering a “playful, social” brand of hospitality, Moxy Hotels’ portfolio includes more than 135 properties across over 25 countries.
