PYRAMID GLOBAL ADDS SIX PROPERTIES: Pyramid Global Hospitality has expanded its management portfolio in the U.S. with the addition of six hotels and resorts. Out of the six new additions, Pyramid Global, Flamingo Resort & Spa and The Sandman Hotel in Santa Rosa, Calif., Wayfinder Newport Hotel in Newport, R.I., Hotel Paradox – Autograph Collection in Santa Cruz, Calif., and The Preserve Sporting Club & Residences in Richmond, R.I., will join Benchmark Pyramid Luxury & Lifestyle unit and The Westin Tampa Bay in Tampa, Fla., will become a part of Pyramid Global Hospitality’s branded unit. These additions are part of the company’s strategy to achieve a milestone of 250 properties in the U.S., Caribbean and Europe. Pyramid Global’s portfolio currently includes over 230 properties in the U.S., the Caribbean and Europe.

NOVOTEL LIVING HOTEL IN GEORGIA: Accor has signed a cooperation agreement with Mardi Holding, the Georgian development company, to open the first Novotel Living-branded hotel on the Black Sea coast in Batumi, Georgia. Located on Iberia Street, Novotel Living Batumi will be close to popular tourist attractions. The hotel will be housed in a new building with two blocks and 13 floors each. Novotel Living will implement a “strata title” concept in which rooms will be owned and rented out while the hotel operator manages the infrastructure. There will be 319 apartments, ranging from two- and three-bedroom suites to executive studios featuring fully-equipped kitchens, in-room laundry facilities and a soundproofed work area. The hotel will also include public spaces, a restaurant, a 24-hour lobby bar, a pool and a panoramic restaurant on the roof, a fitness room and a recreation area.Â
RED LION INN OPENS IN PHILADELPHIA: Sonesta has announced the opening of Red Lion Inn & Suites Philadelphia, a 45-room, select-service hotel in downtown Philadelphia. This is the third Red Lion Inn & Suites to open so far this year, and its portfolio currently comprises 34 properties across the U.S. Sonesta has 1,200 properties totaling 100,000 rooms under 17 brands across eight countries.
ACCOR ADDS HOTEL IN AUSTRALIA: Accor has grown its portfolio in Australia with the opening of Mantra Bunbury Lighthouse in the seaside town of Bunbury in southwest Western Australia. Overlooking the Bunbury Lighthouse and Indian Ocean, the 71-room hotel features conference space for up to 425 guests, an onsite restaurant and bar and leisure amenities like an indoor pool, spa and sauna. The hotel is owned by Mandala Hospitality Group, Accor’s long-term partner. Mantra Bunbury Lighthouse marks the fifth franchise agreement between Accor and Mandala Hospitality Group. Currently, Accor has 19 brands in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and French Polynesia.
CURIO COLLECTION BY HILTON DEBUTS IN MADRID Hilton has announced the opening of Hotel Montera Madrid, Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the first Curio Collection by Hilton property in Madrid. A neoclassical building dating back to 1924 has been completely redesigned to open as the Hilton hotel with interiors designed by interior designer Lazaro Rosa-Violan. The hotel consists of 93 rooms, including eight suites and two food and beverage concepts.
