PREFERRED HOTELS & RESORTS ADDS TO L.V.X. COLLECTION: Grand Hotel Courmayeur Mont Blanc, located in the Alpine town of Courmayeur in northwestern Italy and a member of R Collection Hotels, has been accepted into the membership of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the independent hotel brand. Preferred Hotels’ collection includes more than 600 hotels, resorts, residences and hotel groups located across 80 countries. Grand Hotel Courmayeur Mont Blanc joins the L.V.X. Collection. Surrounded by the Alps of the Aosta Valley, the luxury hotel offers 72 rooms, two dining venues and a spa (which is spread over 5,382 square feet and includes an indoor heated pool, a sauna, Turkish bath, private spa and a gym). Family-owned for three generations, R Collection Hotels is a luxury Italian hotel portfolio with 10 hotels located across Italy.
ROCKBRIDGE ACQUIRES HYATT HOUSE CHICAGO: Rockbridge, the Columbus, Ohio-based owner and developer, has acquired the Hyatt House Chicago West Loop/Fulton Market. Sterling Bay and Wheelock Street Capital reportedly sold the 200-room hotel for an undisclosed price. JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group advised the sellers on the transaction. Located near Chicago’s downtown West Loop and Fulton Market, the hotel features 200 rooms. Built in 2019, the 14-story select service hotel includes a rooftop activity center, a bar, an indoor pool, a fitness center, grab-and-go station and meeting space. The hotel is situated close to corporate campuses, including McDonald’s global headquarters, and next to Chicago’s Restaurant Row on Randolph Street.
ESA OPENS PREMIER SUITES: Extended Stay America, the mid-priced extended stay hotel brand, has opened the Extended Stay America Premier Suites Portland North in Portland, Ore. The hotel was developed by Trimark-University Housing IV and will be managed by Ark Hospitality. The three-story hotel offers 146 rooms, complimentary breakfast, a fitness center, an onsite guest laundry facilities. Each suite includes full size refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, utensils and dedicated workspaces. Launched in 2021, Extended Stay America has more than 700 properties across the U.S.Â
HOTEL IVY UNVEILS NEW LOOK: Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Minneapolis is undergoing extensive, multi-million-dollar renovations by Whitespace Interiors. The first phase of the transformation is complete and includes refreshed rooms, meeting venues and new restaurants. The second phase, which is expected to be finished by early fall, will include enhanced suites, lobby and a new lobby bar concept. The hotel’s dining spaces have been redesigned and opened by hospitality group, Apicii. The boutique, lifestyle hotel offers 136 rooms and suites along with two restaurants, a speakeasy and a spa and fitness center.
