PAN PACIFIC EXPANDS IN MALAYSIA: Pan Pacific Hotels Group has expanded its footprint in Malaysia and introduced Parkroyal, its modern upscale brand, in Melaka. The opening of Parkroyal A’Famosa Melaka Resort marks the Singapore-based group’s first property in Melaka and the sixth in Malaysia. The 213-key resort is situated within tropical gardens and close to popular attractions in Melaka. Located close to the A’Famosa Waterworld and Safari Wonderland, all rooms of the resort feature an al fresco balcony with views of the gardens and the nearby 27-hole golf course. Amenities and services include multiple dining venues, a spa, swimming pool, kid’s pool, gym and a grand ballroom which can accommodate up to 700 persons and seven additional meeting rooms. Pan Pacific Hotels currently owns and manages more than 50 properties under three brands across over 30 cities in Asia Pacific, North America and Europe.

MGM COLLECTION WITH MARRIOTT BONVOY LAUNCHES: MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy has started accepting reservations for 16 hotel and resort destinations on Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy app. The new brand, which was created by the Marriott International and MGM Resorts International, encompasses 16 MGM resorts. These are New York-New York Hotel & Casino, MGM Collection; MGM Grand Hotel & Casino; Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, MGM Collection; Vdara Hotel & Spa, MGM Collection; The Signature at MGM Grand; Luxor Hotel & Casino, MGM Collection; Excalibur Hotel & Casino, MGM Collection; Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, MGM Collection (Atlantic City, N.J.); Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, MGM Collection (Biloxi, Miss.); MGM Grand Detroit (Detroit, Mich.); MGM National Harbor (Oxon Hill, Md.); and MGM Springfield (Springfield, Mass.). Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points at MGM Collection properties with qualifying stays and avail benefits when they reserve via Marriott’s booking platforms. SONOMA HOTEL BREAKS GROUND: R.D. Olson Construction has broken ground on Appellation Healdsburg in Healdsburg’s North Village, a partnership between Comstock Development, Chef Charlie Palmer and Christopher Hunsberger’s newest hotels under the Appellation brand. Spanning eight acres in a campus-style setting, the luxury resort hotel will be completed by summer 2025. The hotel will feature 108 rooms across 12 buildings, along with a restaurant serving signature Charlie Palmer cuisine, a spa, lobby and rooftop bars, two pools, fitness center and a hall for events.
LIMESTONE CAPITAL ACQUIRES IN ITALY: Limestone Capital AG, an alternative investment manager with a focus on hospitality and travel, has acquired a luxury resort in Italy. Located in Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, the resort will open this May under the Aethos brand. The resort will offer 63 rooms and suites, freshwater pools, a fitness center, a restaurant and wellness offerings. Barcelona-based Astet Studio has led the hotel’s interiors.
RED ROOF OPENS IN FLORIDA: Red Roof, the economy lodging company, has opened Red Roof Inn Wildwood in Wildwood, Fla. The hotel’s owner, Sai Inc., has invested over $50,000 in refurbishing it, which included new landscaping and bedding, enhancing the lobby, revitalizing the guestroom bathrooms and installing new ice and vending machines. The pet-friendly hotel is situated near major attractions. Currently, Red Roof has more than 60,000 rooms in around 700 properties in the U.S. and Japan.
