MINOR’S NH HOTELS DEBUTS IN CHINA: Minor Hotels has debuted its NH-branded hotel in China with the opening of the NH Zhengzhou Jinshui. Minor Hotels partnered with China’s Funyard Hotels & Resorts for the 140-key hotel located in Zhengzhou. The hotel includes an all-day dining restaurant on the top floor, a lobby bar, a fitness center, a self-service laundry room with ironing facilities, parking spaces and meeting spaces for up to 200 persons. NH recently marked its entry into Asia with the opening of NH Boat Lagoon in Phuket, Thailand.Â

ENVI LODGES EXPANDS IN OMAN: ENVI Lodges, the luxury eco-lodge brand and management company, has unveiled plans to open its second property in Oman. The new eco-retreat will be located along the shores of Al Sifah, about an hour away from Muscat. This announcement comes weeks after ENVI announced its foray into the country with the ENVI Al Jabel Al Akhdar. Slated to open in late 2025, ENVI Al Sifah will offer 40 luxury sea-facing tents developed by Tenthouse Structures. Each of the tents can withstand the coastal climate while ensuring natural ventilation. Owned by a consortium of Oman-based investors, the ecolodge will include a restaurant, wellness center, pool, activities center, children’s club and outdoor spaces with an open-air beach cinema. Committed to sustainable tourism, the property will implement sustainable practices such as using renewable energy sources, conserving water, recycling and waste management programs. ENVI Lodges has previously announced projects in the Middle East, Africa and South Africa.
GROUND BREAKING ON TAMPA RITZ-CARLTON RESIDENCES: Real estate developer Related Group has broken ground on Tower II of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Tampa. Located along Tampa Bay’s Bayshore Drive, The Residences marks the brand’s debut in the Bay Area. The property’s architecture is led by Arquitectonica, with interiors designed by Meyer Davis. Tower II of The Residences will have 94 condominium homes and six villas with open floor plans spanning up to 5,700 square feet. Floor-to-ceiling windows will offer views of Hillsborough Bay and Downtown Tampa. The units will have kitchens and shared living spaces. Residents can access a bespoke wellness amenity package, which will include on-demand spa services, treatment rooms and separate steam rooms and saunas for both men and women. Other services include a fitness center and gym, an on-site dog park, pickleball and regulation-size tennis courts, a golf simulator and a rooftop terrace with a bar and viewing deck.
STAFFORD’S HOSPITALITY HOTEL PORTFOLIO SELLS: Stafford Smith and equity partners have sold Stafford’s Hospitality to Jon and Lauren Cotton of Grosse Point, Mich. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The properties, all based in Michigan, include The Bay View Inn in Bay View, The Perry Hotel in Petoskey, The Crooked River Lodge in Alanson, The Pier Restaurant in Harbor Springs, The Weathervane in Charlevoix and The Noggin Room Pub in Petoskey. Troy, Mic.-based Hotel Investment Services, will manage all the hotels in the portfolio. The Cottons and Hotel Investment Services, along with inputs from Stafford’s leadership team, are planning renovations to the portfolio. The sale is expected to close in January 2024.
RADISSON HOTEL OPENS IN BUDAPEST: Radisson Hotel Budapest BudaPart has opened in the city’s Ujbuda district. The new-build hotel is the first upscale Radisson-branded hotel in Hungary. The hotel features 198 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby bar, a rooftop bar with an open-air terrace and views of the BudaPart neighborhood, along with five meeting rooms and a conference space that can accommodate up to 228 persons. The hotel is Radisson Hotel Group’s fourth property in Budapest.
