NH COLLECTION RESORT IN THE MALDIVES: Minor Hotels has announced the opening of NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, marking the first NH Collection-branded property in the Maldives. The resort will join the portfolio in August and is also NH Collection’s first property outside of an urban location. The resort will offer 120 luxury villas, 60 beach and over-water villas, each with views of the Indian Ocean, multiple dining venues, a spa, gym, swimming pool and pool bar, a kid’s club along with a water sports and dive center. This will be the seventh property to be operated by Minor Hotels in the Maldives. The resort is part of NH Collection’s strategy to expand into new regions, with a special focus on Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
DUSIT DEBUTS IN NEPAL: Dusit Hotels and Resorts, under Thailand-based Dusit International, has debuted in Nepal with the opening of Dusit Princess Kathmandu and Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort Dhulikhel, which will open on July 24. Dusit Princess Kathmandu, located in the city’s Lazimpat neighborhood, offers 107 rooms and a presidential suite. The new hotel also features a restaurant, a rooftop sky lounge, a Dusit Gourmet outlet, an infinity pool and a rooftop venue for events. The hotel will soon open a spa. Located in the Himalayan foothills between the Mahabharat range and Alpine highland ridge, Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort Dhulikhel features 54 rooms and suites, a wellness center, a restaurant, a poolside bar and spaces for meetings and events. Dusit’s launch in Nepal grows the company’s global presence to 54 properties operating under Dusit Hotels and Resorts and more than 240 luxury villas under Elite Havens across 19 countries. The company has over 60 Dusit Hotels and Resorts in its global pipeline.
HYATT’S SECOND HOTEL IN MALTA: Hyatt Hotels Corp. has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with JUEL Hospitality Ltd., part of the JUEL Group, to develop a Hyatt Centric hotel in Malta. The 160-room Hyatt Centric Malta is slated to open in early 2024 and will be the second Hyatt hotel in Malta, following Hyatt Regency Malta in St Julian’s. The hotel will have dining venues, a rooftop terrace, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and more than 4,300 square feet of flexible meeting space across two rooms.
HARD ROCK HOTEL IN ALGARVE: Hard Rock International will open a new hotel, Hard Rock Hotel Algarve, in Portugal. Located near Praia do Vau, Portimao, the hotel will begin construction in 2024 and is expected to open in the summer of 2026. The hotel will have 275 rooms and suites and 150 branded serviced apartments. The hotel will offer direct access to the beach, a kid’s club, three dining venues, three bars, three outdoor pools, a spa, a gym, a beach club and a sports area.
RADISSON BLU OPENS IN RAJASTHAN, INDIA: Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of Radisson Blu Resort, Kumbhalgarh, in Rajasthan. Located on the foothills of the Aravalli Range, the resort is spread across 5.18 acres. The property offers 86 rooms and suites, a fitness center, a spa, an outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor meeting and banquet spaces and three dining options. Currently, Radisson has more than 150 hotels in operation and development in over 64 locations across India.
