Briefs: NewcrestImage acquires DoubleTree Suites; IHG signs Regent Residences in Middle East

NEWCRESTIMAGE ACQUIRES DOUBLETREE SUITES: NewcrestImage has acquired the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Columbus Downtown in Ohio. The acquisition price and seller’s details were not disclosed. Located in the downtown, the 15-floor, full-service, all-suite hotel features 194 large rooms. Each room has two separate spaces for living, sleeping and kitchenette areas. The 4-star hotel includes a full-service restaurant, lounge, fitness center, concierge services, a business center and nearly 7,000 square feet of conference space. The transaction was brokered by Hunter Hotel Advisors, with Senior Vice Presidents Tim Osbourne and Spencer Davidson representing the institutional seller. The acquisition marks the second deal of a full-service, value-added hotel that Hunter has closed in the last three months. Founded in 2013, NewcrestImage’s portfolio includes around 275 hotels and nearly 30,000 rooms across 130 communities.

IHG SIGNS FIRST REGENT RESIDENCES IN DUBAI: IHG Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Sankari, the luxury real estate developer in Dubai, to launch its first Regent Residences in the Middle East. Regent Residences Dubai – Sankari Place will join IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio and will be located in Dubai’s Marasi Marina neighborhood. The property will have 63 upper luxury units and 10 floating homes. Slated to be completed by the end of 2027, the flagship property will mark the first independent Regent Residences property to open globally. The property will be situated on the waterfront peninsula, offering views overlooking the Dubai Creek and Downtown Dubai. The twin-tower design will feature full-floor homes, each with a private pool and outdoor living spaces. Regent Residences Dubai will also include a private dining lounge, cigar lounge, cellar, spa, business lounge health and fitness centers, a golf stimulator, cinema and gaming room and sports courts.

RED ROOF OPENS 700TH HOTEL: Red Roof has celebrated a milestone by opening its 700th property, a new-build in Jamaica, N.Y., as well as a new-build and prototype, the HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof Tampa-Airport in Tampa, Fla. The 700th property, the 86-room Red Roof PLUS+ Jamaica, opened after an investment of more than $20 million. Owned by Steven Mendel of RiverBrook Hospitality, the hotel features 100% smoke free rooms with televisions, mini refrigerators and in-room coffee makers. The new HomeTowne Studios in Tampa is owned by Vijay Patel, CEO of Dhruv Development, and is the first property to showcase the new HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof prototype that was launched in 2021. The hotel has 124 suites with kitchenettes, storage spaces and HDTVs.

HILTON ADDS CONRAD IN CHINA: Hilton has announced the opening of Conrad Chongqing, the brand’s first property in Chongqing. The hotel also marks Hilton’s 700th property in the Greater China region. Owned by Chongqing Jafa Group, the hotel is located in the Jiafa Cross-Border Trade Center in the Nan’an District. The hotel has 275 rooms, including 26 suites, three dining venues, a 780-square-meter outdoor sky garden, fitness center, heated indoor pool and around 3,000 square meters of pillarless event space.
