MISSION HILL ACQUIRES TWO HOTELS: Mission Hill Hospitality has grown its selects service portfolio with the acquisition of two new hotels in a single transaction. The hotels include the 111-key Residence Inn Tuscaloosa in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the 103-key Home2 Suites by Hilton in Blacksburg, Va. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The two properties mark the 28th and 29th additions to Denver-based Mission Hill’s portfolio since the company was founded in March 2021. The additions mark the company’s first property in Alabama and second in Virginia.

VIRGIN LIMITED EDITION OPENS HOTEL IN MALLORCA: Virgin Limited Edition has announced the opening of its latest hotel, Son Bunyola Hotel and Villas, in Mallorca, Spain. Located in the Tramuntana Mountains, the luxury hotel joins three other standalone villas in the estate. A historic Finca building, which dates back to the 1500s, was restored to develop the hotel. The hotel offers 26 rooms and suites, all designed by local interior designer Rialto Living. Local architect Gras designed the property, which includes the main Finca and the Tafona, as well as other annexe buildings. The Tafona features two suites with terraces, while the hotel has two tower suites with panoramic mountain and sea views. The property has two restaurants and wellness facilities.
U.S. PERFORMANCE UPDATE: Hotel performance in the U.S. improved from last week but reported mixed YOY comparisons, according to STR’s data through June 17.

Among the top 25 markets, only Oahu Island posted a double-digit occupancy rise over 2022 (+11% to 84.1%). Los Angeles saw the highest lift in ADR (+12.7% to $222.47), driven by the 123rd U.S. Open. Las Vegas witnessed the highest YOY RevPAR increase (+16.8% to $146.33). The steepest RevPAR declines were reported in New Orleans (-24.4% to $90.01) and San Francisco (-18.4% to $138.95).
ONEFINESTAY, GUSBOURNE ESTATE PARTNER: onefinestay, part of Accor, has entered into a partnership with English winery Gusbourne Estate in the U.K. to offer new experiences, like private vineyard tours and at-home wine tastings. The partnership is available through onefinestay’s concierge service. The at-home wine tastings will be guided by experienced wine ambassadors, while Gusbourne’s vineyard in Kent will be available for guided vineyard tours. Transport to and from London can be arranged through onefinestay’s concierge, which can organize a chauffeur-driven car to a private helicopter directly to the Gusbourne Estate.
MARRIOTT BONVOY, WASHINGTON POST COLLABORATE AGAIN: Marriott Bonvoy, Marriot International’s travel program, has announced a second year of partnering with The Washington Post Creative Group to highlight “regenerative travel,” the practice of planning trips which will help benefit local economies, communities and the environment. The collaboration will continue to showcase impactful experiences for consumers by bringing together storytelling and travel expertise. TikTok content creators and self-described interabled couple Cole Sydor and Charisma Jamison will explore regenerative travel through the ‘Cultural Adventures’ trend. The couple will travel to St. Helena Island in South Carolina to experience its authentic culture and understand how the community has maintained its heritage through food, music and art.
