Briefs: Mar-Bella Collection unveils Corfu hotel; Holiday Inn Resort in India

MAR-BELLA COLLECTION UNVEILS CORFU HOTEL: Mar-Bella Collection will open a new hotel in southwest Corfu. This will be the family-owned Greek luxury hospitality brand’s fourth hotel. Avali is scheduled to open in summer 2025 along the Agios Ioannis Peristeron, close to the brand’s all-inclusive MarBella and adults-only Nido hotels. An existing 76-key hotel will be rebranded and revitalized to reopen as Avali. Located between mountains a 300-meter pebbled beach on the Ionian Sea, the hotel will offer an infinity pool, two restaurants, three bars, three acres of gardens and a beach house, which can be accessed by guests from across the Mar-Bella Collection portfolio. The hotel will include an indoor fitness area, a yoga deck, outdoor spa cabin and a water sports center.

HOLIDAY INN RESORT IN NORTH INDIA: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Siddhya Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. to open a Holiday Inn in India. Slated to open in 2026 in Kufri, Himachal Pradesh, the signing is part of IHG’s strategy to expand in India and open properties in key leisure destinations in the country. The new-build Holiday Inn Resort Kufri will be located in the Shimla district and feature 100 rooms, including 10 suites. Amenities include four dining options, a pool, retail spaces, fitness center and four meeting and event spaces. Currently, IHG has 45 hotels operating across five brands across India, with another 50 properties expected to open within five years.

ACCOR SIGNS TWO SWISSOTEL HOTELS IN EGYPT: Accor has signed an agreement with Naia Developments to develop two Swissotel properties in Egypt, marking the brand’s venture in Ras El Hekma. As part of the agreement, Accor will operate Swissotel Ras El Hekma and Swissotel Residences Ras El Hekma. Both the hotels will open in the third quarter of 2027, adding to Accor’s portfolio on the north coast of Egypt. The hotel will feature 250 keys and 100 branded residences along with wellness-focused amenities, two restaurants, a beach and pool bar and lounge. The hotels will also have a spa, fitness center, beach club and meeting areas. Accor’s current portfolio in Egypt includes 24 hotels with more than 5,000 keys across its premium, midscale and economy portfolio and 40 hotels with more than 12,000 keys in its luxury and lifestyle portfolio. Besides the Swissotel hotels, Accor aims to add another five properties under its premium, midscale and economy brands to Egypt by 2027.

MY PLACE ADDS IN MINNESOTA: My Place Hotels of America has opened My Place Hotels-Grand Rapids in Grand Rapids, Minn. This is the brand’s second property in Minnesota and the 71st to open in the U.S. Owned by Iron Range MP, LLC, the hotel was developed by Legacy Development LLC and is managed by Legacy Management, LLC. The 63-room My Place Hotels-Grand Rapids was designed by The Richardson Design Partnership, using the My Place “Chalet” prototype. The hotel has an indoor pavilion, indoor pool, gathering spaces, a grab-and-go market and laundry facilities. Legacy Development, LLC, collaborated with local lender Woodland Bank and nationally recognized hospitality general contractor Legacy Builders, Inc. for the hotel. Currently, My Place Hotels of America has 71 hotels across 29 states and more than 120 in the pipeline.
