Briefs: Liverpool’s 30 James Street hotel sells; IHG expands Italian portfolio

LIVERPOOL’S 30 JAMES STREET HOTEL SELLS: RIMC Hotels & Resorts, the independent German hotel company, has acquired 30 James Street Hotel in Liverpool, the U.K. Other terms of the sale were not disclosed. The grade II-listed, 63-room hotel was well-known as the ‘home of the Titanic’ as it was the former headquarters of the White Star Shipping Line. The hotel includes the Carpathia Champagne Bar and Restaurant, an outdoor terrace with views of the Mersey River and Liverpool Waterfront, a spa with three treatment rooms, an indoor pool and a grand hall. This is RIMC’s first acquisition in the U.K. Savills, on behalf of administrators Moorfields Advisory, completed the sale of the hotel. DWF Law LLP served on behalf of the buyer, while law firm Hogan Lovell acted on behalf of the seller.

IHG ADDS SIX NEW HOTELS IN ITALY: IHG Hotels & Resorts has more than doubled its Italian luxury and lifestyle portfolio and added six new hotels in the country. These latest additions will bring IHG’s luxury and lifestyle presence in the country from four to 10 hotels. The additions include openings of Six Senses and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in Rome and four more signings — a Vignette Collection hotel in Rome and Hotel Indigo properties in Florence, Turin and Trieste. While the new Six Senses and Vignette Collection hotels mark brand debuts in Italy, the three new Hotel Indigo properties join an existing brand presence across Venice, Verona, Milan and Rome. The 96-key Six Senses Rome and the 160-room InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace have recently opened. The 160-key Hotel Indigo Florence and 50-room Hotel Indigo Turin will open later this year, while the 81-room Hotel Alexandra, Vignette Collection and Hotel Indigo Trieste – Palazzo Kalister will open in 2025. Currently, IHG has 27 hotels operating under six brands in Italy, with seven additional properties in the pipeline.

RADISSON ADDS TO FRENCH PORTFOLIO: Les Maisons de Léa, the first Radisson Individuals-branded hotel in France’s Normandy area, has opened. A former salt storehouse, Les Maisons de Léa, a Radisson Individuals member in Honfleur, is a boutique hotel on a property that dates back to the 16th century, with five adjacent houses added later. The hotel has 43 rooms and suites, meetings and events space, a bistro restaurant, a hammam and a spa.

HEI ADDS RENAISSANCE DALLAS NORTH TO MANAGEMENT PORTFOLIO: Norwalk, Conn.-based HEI Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of the 337-room Renaissance Dallas North Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Owned by L+R Hotels, the hotel is located along Interstate 635. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, 18 meeting rooms consisting of around 25,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a fitness center, a restaurant and a coffee shop. The hotel will undergo extensive renovations expected to be completed in 2024. HEI currently owns or operates over 100 luxury, upper-upscale and upscale independent and branded properties across the U.S.

OUTRIGGER RESORTS ACHIEVES GREEN SEAL: Resort brand Outrigger Resorts & Hotels has achieved the Green Seal certification for its key properties in Hawaii and Fiji. The company is the first in Hawaii to earn the designation and among the first hospitality brands to achieve the certification outside of the U.S. Green Seal is a global non-profit whose certification indicates a product, cleaning service or facility meets the highest benchmark of health and environmental leadership. Outrigger’s properties which are now Green Seal certified include Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel, Ohana Waikiki East by Outrigger, Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk, Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa. Outrigger Fiji Beach & Resort and Castaway Island, Fiji.
