KEMPINSKI ANNOUNCES FIRST HOTEL IN ROMANIA: Kempinski Hotels has unveiled plans to launch a five-star mountain resort in Poiana Brasov, Romania. The 120-room hotel will feature spa and wellness facilities, three dining outlets, a conference center and events space and views of the Carpathian Mountains. Kempinski Poiana Brasov will have direct access to almost 24 kilometers of ski slopes on the flanks of the Postăvarul Massif and the nearby medieval city of Brasov. The hotel will be developed by Bucharest-based developer Rock Holding.

BOB W’S FIRST PROPERTY IN DENMARK: Bob W has announced the opening of Bob W Østerbro, its first property in Denmark. Located in the eastern neighborhood of Østerbro in Copenhaguen, the property was formerly a chocolate factory converted into 165 studio and 1-bedroom apartments. The hotel has been designed by interior design agency Third.space and offers Bob W’s contactless service and a digital front desk experience. Add-on services include breakfast, gym and flexibility for early check-ins or late check-outs. Aligned with the company’s eco-friendly efforts and its latest 2023 sustainability report, the hotel provides eco-friendly toiletries and second-hand or locally sourced furniture items, and carbon emissions for each guest night are shared online. Currently, Bob W has a portfolio of 3,000 serviced apartments in 10 countries and 16 cities in Europe.
ASCEND HOTEL COLLECTION OPENS IN NYC: Choice Hotels’ Ascend Hotel Collection has opened the Mayfair Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection in New York City. Located in the heart of the Theatre District near Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill, Ambassador, Gershwin and Barrymore theaters, the recently renovated 77-room property offers guests easy access to Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen and other popular NYC attractions. The hotel was developed by the Mayfair Hotel Group and joins Ascend Hotel Collection’s current portfolio of 360 properties open or in the pipeline.
