Briefs: Indigo Road to manage Bridge Creek Inn; Registry Collection’s European debut

INDIGO ROAD TO MANAGE BRIDGE CREEK INN: The Indigo Road Hospitality Group has added Bridge Creek Inn in Clayton, Ga., to its portfolio of boutique hotels in the Southeast and Midwest. Earlier known as The Clayton Hotel, the building from the 1950s is being restored to open under the new name. Indigo Road will manage the hotel, expected to open this September, for hotel owner Ridgeline Investment Partners. Bridge Creek Inn will offer 45 rooms, a coffee bar, several indoor event areas and a bar and restaurant. The hotel is surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, lakes and rivers. This will be Indigo Road’s fourth property located within or near the Blue Ridge Mountains range.

WYNDHAM LAUNCHES REGISTRY COLLECTION IN EUROPE: Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened its first Registry Collection hotel in Europe with the opening of the Ajul Luxury Hotel & Spa Resort in Halkidiki in Greece. The 171-room luxury beachfront resort consists of 26 private villas, most with private pools, five swimming pools and access to a nearby pebble beach. Built against a setting of forests, the hotel includes three restaurants, three bars, a spa with an outdoor pool, two tennis courts, a basketball court, a beach volleyball court, an adventure park and more than 600 square meters of event space. The resort is the latest addition to a portfolio of 16 Registry Collection properties in Mexico, Brazil, Panama, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. The resort is owned and operated by Zeus International Hotels & Resorts and builds on Wyndham’s long-term partnership with the company, presently covering 10 hotels across three countries. Currently, Zeus International owns and manages 12 more hotels in Greece, Italy and Romania.

U.S. PERFORMANCE UPDATE: Hotel performance in the U.S. fell from the last week, as expected before Memorial Day, according to STR’s data through May 27. However, YOY comparisons improved.

  • Occupancy: 66.8% (+0.6%)
  • ADR: $156.63 (+2.2%)
  • RevPAR: $104.62 (+2.9%)

Among the top 25 markets, Washington, D.C., posted the highest YOY occupancy increase (+10.5% to 76.2%). Notably, New York City saw the highest occupancy level (85.7%), boosted by Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour. Detroit reported the biggest increases in ADR (+16.9% to $137.08) and RevPAR (+29% to $91.54) over 2022. The steepest RevPAR declines were reported in Miami (-10% to $143.51) and Dallas (-7% to $83.35).

BOB W DEBUTS IN THE NETHERLANDS: Bob W, the tech-powered short-term rental operator, has opened its first properties in the Netherlands. Bob W Oosterpark and Bob W Noord collectively comprise more than 150 apartments, lofts and rooms. Located on Middenweg in Amsterdam, Bob W Oosterpark is housed in a former historic courthouse. The newly-built Bob W Noord is located on Papaverwag in Amsterdam-Noord, and the flagship location comprises apartments and lofts along with a rooftop pool, wellness center and restaurant. With these two properties, Bob W now has presence in nine European countries, including the U.K., Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Norway, Finland and Estonia.

JAPAN’S FIRST VOCO HOTEL: IHG Hotels & Resorts has introduced its voco hotels brand in Japan with the opening of voco Osaka Central in partnership with UD Hospitality Management. Located in Kyomachibori in Osaka, voco Osaka Central is built on the site of the former Kyomachi Building. The hotel has 191 rooms and suites with traditional Japanese sitting areas and Japanese architecture. The hotel includes a signature restaurant, a bar and café, a fitness room, a gym and meetings and events areas. First launched in 2018, voco currently has 46 open hotels globally and 50 more in the pipeline.
