Briefs: IHG’s first Regent | Hilton’s Singapore flagship

IHG to open first Regent since brand acquisition: InterContinental Hotels Group has signed a management agreement with Shanghai 21st Century Hotel for its property in Lujiazui, Shanghai, China. After May 16, the hotel will be branded the Regent Shanghai Pudong, marking the first Regent-branded property for IHG after its acquisition of a majority stake in Regent Hotels & Resorts in March 2018. All existing reservations will be automatically forwarded and honored by the new hotel management. Under the deal, IHG will also take over management of the property’s luxury apartments, which sit above the hotel in the same tower.

MO to become Hilton flagship in Singapore: A mainstay of Singapore’s key shopping and tourist belt over the last half-century, Mandarin Orchard Singapore will be renovated and renamed Hilton Singapore Orchard. The hotel will have a refurbished lobby, new meeting rooms and restaurants, and a bar on the 38th and 39th levels offering views of the city. Its long-time restaurants Chatterbox and two-star Michelin outlet Shisen Hanten will also remain.
