Briefs: IHG signs resorts in Turks & Caicos; Spark by Hilton’s European debut

IHG SIGNS THREE RESORTS IN TURKS & CAICOS: IHG Hotels & Resorts is foraying into Turks & Caicos and has signed three hotels across its luxury and lifestyle portfolio. The resorts will open under the InterContinental, Kimpton and Hotel Indigo brands. Developed in collaboration with owner Molo Hotel Group and the U.K.-based management group Lighthouse Hotel Management, both Slominski family owned companies, the three properties are scheduled to open by 2027. Glasgow-based architecture and design studio Ica will partner with Turks & Caicos-based Conservative Architecture and Miami-based landscape architecture firm EDSA for the resorts. Located on Grace Bay, the three properties are the 59-suite InterContinental Turks & Caicos; the 192-room new-build Kimpton Turks & Caicos; and the 56-room Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos. The hotels’ owner and operator have two Vignette Collection hotels in Europe. Globally, IHG’s six luxury and lifestyle brands have more than 850 open and pipeline hotels.

SPARK BY HILTON’S EUROPEAN DEBUT: Hilton is set to introduce its Spark by Hilton brand in Europe with the signing of Spark by Hilton London Romford. Slated to open in the coming weeks, the 125-room hotel is part of a franchise agreement with Romford South Ltd., marking Hilton’s venture into the premium economy segment in Europe. Located in Romford town center adjacent to the Romford Station, the hotel will offer access to more than 400 restaurants, cafes and shops across four shopping centers. Hilton opened its inaugural Spark by Hilton hotel in October 2023 with the opening of Spark by Hilton Mystic Groton, eight months after announcing the conversion-only, premium economy brand. Since the opening, the brand has expanded its reach to over 30 operating hotels and more than 175 under development.

RENTYL, DAVIDSON TO MANAGE EMBASSY SUITES CONDO PROJECT: Rentyl Resorts and Davidson Hospitality Group have partnered on a condominium project with Embassy Suites in Kissimmee, Fla. Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Sunset Walk is a five-building condominium project, which is being developed by Sunset Walk Residences, LLC. Rentyl and Davidson will lead onsite management, sales, marketing, revenue and call center management of the units. The project will have 317 units, ranging from studio, one- or two-bedroom condos. The first two buildings will open this month, while the other three will open by the year-end. This is the first Embassy Suites where the units are individually owned, with the option to enter Rentyl Resorts’ rental program. Embassy Suites will offer all of its brand features, such as complimentary, made-to-order breakfast and buffet and a complimentary evening reception for guests. The property will have a pool deck and a club, along with free shuttle service to Sunset Walk.

ACCOR TO INTRODUCE TRIBE IN NEW ZEALAND: TRIBE, the design-led midscale brand by Accor, is set to debut in New Zealand with its upcoming opening of TRIBE Auckland Fort Street. Located on Fort Street in Auckland, the hotel will offer 60 rooms, along with a lobby bar, terrace and social hub. Accor has partnered with CP Group to open the hotel. Currently, TRIBE’s global portfolio includes m15 hotels, with over 40 hotels under development including flagship addresses in France and the U.K.
