HILTON ADDS THIRD HOTEL IN MELBOURNE: Hilton has collaborated with Vista Hospitality Group to open its first Curio Collection-banded hotel in Melbourne. The 255-room Next Hotel Melbourne is located in CBD’s 80 Collins precinct. The hotel, which will feature suites, an executive lounge and a restaurant and bar, is slated to open later this year and will join the global line-up of 140 properties set to open by the end of this year. This will be the third Hilton-branded hotel to open in Melbourne, joining Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street and DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne Flinders Street.
DOLCE BY WYNDHAM TO OPEN IN VERSAILLES: Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is set to open the upscale Dolce by Wyndham Versailles – Domaine du Montcel in France’s Yvelines region. Located close to the renowned Palace of Versailles, the property was once owned by the Oberkampf-Mallet family and has been renovated by France-based 2BDM Architects. As part of the renovation, the Toiles de Jouy print in the décor of the rooms was reinstated. Expected to open in December, the 178-room hotel includes 14 hectares of gardens surrounding the estate, two restaurants, a bar with a terrace, conference facilities with 18 meeting rooms and a 550-square-meter ballroom. Guests can also access a spa with a heated indoor and outdoor pool, a sensory shower, a sauna, a snow cave, a fitness center and seven treatment rooms. Part of Wyndham’s portfolio of 24 brands, Dolce by Wyndham has more properties in locations such as Italy, Denmark, Greece, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, the U.S. and Vietnam.
KIMPTON HOTEL THETA REOPENS: TIHG has announced the opening of Kimpton Hotel Theta in New York. Managed by Highgate, the 15-story, 364-room lifestyle hotel has been redesigned. The reimagination was overseen by LUCID, Highgate’s in-house design and construction team, and was designed by Brooklyn-headquartered CRÈME/Jun Aiziki Architecture & Design. The luxury boutique hotel features a lobby café, a rooftop restaurant in partnership with TableOne Hospitality, laundry services and a fitness center.
HILTON GARDEN INN MONTEREY COMPLETES RENOVATION: The Hilton Garden Inn Monterey, Calif., has completed a multi-million-dollar renovation, which included the redesign of all guestrooms and public spaces. The newly reimagined hotel features 205 rooms and has opened a new lobby bar and eatery. The hotel offers a fitness center, an outdoor pool, a spa and 7,000 square feet of flexible space for events with an outdoor poolside terrace. The hotel is managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts, LLC.
