ESSEX HOTEL MANAGEMENT ADDS 15TH PROPERTY: Rochester, N.Y.-based Essex Hotel Management, LLC has added TownePlace Suites by Marriott Fort Myers Estero in Estero, Fla., to its portfolio of hotels on the east coast. With this new addition, Essex now manages 15 hotels. Located midway between Naples and Fort Myers, the 114-room hotel features an outdoor pool, fitness center and a bar with an adjacent patio and fire pit. The hotel will undergo a complete refresh, including improved seating, carpeting, window treatments and more. The hotel was recently acquired by Countryside Hotels, LLC, a long-term capital partner of Essex. Essex helped identify the property, led the due diligence process, facilitated the franchise application and entered as a minor equity partner.

HOTEL INDIGO ADDS IN FLORIDA: Hotel Indigo, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has expanded its presence in Florida with the opening of Hotel Indigo Panama City Marina in Panama City’s waterfront district. The five-story, 124-key hotel is owned by The St. Joe Company. The hotel’s design is inspired by the indigo plants that once covered the shorelines. The hotel includes two new restaurant and bar concepts, 1,033 square feet of event space, a 965-square-foot outdoor patio, a fitness center, an on-site marketplace, a swimming pool and a fire pit overlooking the bay. Currently, Hotel Indigo has 143 hotels open globally and 127 more in the pipeline.
MONDRIAN DEBUTS IN SINGAPORE: The Mondrian, part of Ennismore, has made its debut in Southeast Asia with the opening of Mondrian Singapore Duxton. Located in the Duxton Hill neighborhood, the hotel offers 302 rooms and shophouse suites, a rooftop pool and four restaurants and bars. The resort was designed by Los Angeles-based hotshop Studio Carter. Currently, Mondrian has properties in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Cannes, London, Seoul and Doha.
HOLIDAY INN RESORT TO OPEN IN KASAULI, INDIA: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with AHG Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. to develop Holiday Inn Resort Kasauli in northern India. The new-build hotel will consist of 300 rooms. Located in Kasauli in the Shivalik Hills, the hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge, bar, gym, swimming pool and a 2,300-square-meter meeting room. Currently, IHG has 45 hotels operating under five brands across South Western Asia, with a pipeline of 39 hotels set to open in the next two to three years.
