Briefs: Drury Hotels adds in Florida; Four Seasons residences in The Bahamas

DRURY HOTELS OPENS IN FLORIDA: Drury Hotels Co., LLC has announced the opening of its latest hotel — The Drury Plaza Hotel Tallahassee. This marks the first Drury hotel in Tallahassee, Fla. and the fifth in Florida. The hotel features 180 rooms and suites and 2,800 square feet of meeting space, which can accommodate up to 280 persons. Located in downtown Tallahassee, the hotel includes a late-night dining option in the lobby, an outdoor pool and spa, a business center, a gym and free parking. The meeting space consists of two rooms with pre-function space and a team offering personalized service. Missouri-based Drury Hotels currently has more than 150 hotels across 26 states.

FOUR SEASONS RESIDENCES IN THE BAHAMAS: Four Seasons has teamed up with U.S.-based real estate development company Two Roads Development and Access Real Estate to unveil The Ocean Club, Four Seasons Residences, Bahamas. Located on an oceanfront enclave on Paradise Island in The Bahamas, the residences are expected to open in 2027. The property will have 67 turnkey private residences managed by Four Seasons, close to The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas. The Ocean Club, Four Seasons Residences has been designed by SB Architects, while New York-based Champalimaud Design has designed the interiors. All homes will have oceanfront or ocean views, floor-to-ceiling windows and verandas and an open floorplan. The residences will range from three- to four-bedroom units, five-bedroom beach villas with a private pool and penthouses with a private pool. Amenities include a beachfront restaurant and bar and an oceanfront pool. Library, lounge, private cellar and rum room, co-working space, kid’s playroom, media room, spa and a fitness center. Homeowners can also access The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas.

U.S. PERFORMANCE IMPROVES: Hotel performance in the U.S. saw an improvement from last week, while YOY comparisons were skewed downward due to a calendar change, according to CoStar’s data up to December 30, 2023.

  • ADR: $163.58 (-2.8%)
  • RevPAR: $82.01 (-9.7%)

YOY comparisons were negative as the comparable week from 2022 (December 25-31) ended with New Year’s Eve. Among the top 25 markets, Miami posted the highest YOY gains in occupancy (+3.9% to 79.6%). The market’s performance was helped by the Capital One Orange Bowl and New Year’s Eve weekend. Anaheim saw the highest gains in ADR (+11.9% to $219.71) and RevPAR (+12.5% to $160.25). The steepest RevPAR declines were recorded in Las Vegas (-28.3% to $112.79) and Nashville (-27% to $80.19).

GRAND MERCURE OPENS IN CHINA: Accor has announced the opening of Grand Mercure Chengdu East in China. Located in the Western Financial Innovation Center, the new hotel features 346 rooms, including 42 serviced residences. The hotel marks the brand’s first property to launch its ‘Living’ concept, which is an extended stay option offering serviced apartments with laundry and kitchenettes.
