CAPELLA TO OPEN IN GALAXY MACAU: Galaxy Entertainment Group has partnered with Capella Hotels and Resorts to announce a Capella-branded hotel in Galaxy Macau, the integrated luxury resort in Macau. Slated to open in mid-2025, Capella at Galaxy Macau will join the collection of nine high-end hotels under one roof. This marks the first Capella hotel in the Greater Bay Area. The 17-story hotel will offer 36 sky villas and 57 suites, with interiors designed by Paris-based Moinard Bētaille. All sky villas will have a balcony with an infinity-edge pool, outdoor lounge, sunroom and hidden winter garden; while the suites will include private plunge pools and balconies with views of Macau. The hotel will feature a members-only lounge designed by Hong Kong-based designer Albert Kwan, a bar, fine dining restaurant led by Michelin-starred Chef Vicky Cheng and a signature all-day dining restaurant. Covering 1.1 million square meters of entertainment and leisure attractions, Galaxy Macau consists of eight other hotels – Banyan Tree Macau, Galaxy Hotel, Hotel Okura Macau, JW Marriott Hotel Macau, The Ritz-Carlton, Raffles at Galaxy Macau, Andaz Macau and Broadway Hotel – offering a total of nearly 5,000 rooms, suites and villas. The integrated resort also comprises more than 120 dining options, 100,000 square meters of retail space, 10 theaters and a lounge.

WORLD OF HYATT ADDS MR & MRS SMITH PORTFOLIO: Hyatt Hotels has announced that World of Hyatt has added more than 700 Mr & Mrs Smith luxury hotels to its loyalty platform. Mr & Mrs Smith, the luxury travel platform which Hyatt acquired in 2023 for £53 million, enables direct booking to a collection of boutique and luxury hotels ranging from glamping stays to grand palazzos. Members can now earn and redeem World of Hyatt points when they book through Hyatt channels. The integration of Mr & Mrs Smith’s properties adds over 20 new countries to World of Hyatt, such as Namibia, Fiji and the British Virgin Islands, and elevates its global luxury portfolio.
AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION OPENS IN MEXICO: Autograph Collection Hotels, part of the global portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands within Marriott Bonvoy, has opened Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos, Autograph Collection. Located in the real estate development of Cabo del Sol in Mexico, the resort features 270 rooms and suites, including 28 suites and villas with balconies. The property offers a spa, fitness center, kid’s club, five swimming pools, multiple restaurants, four bars and a convention center and eight meeting rooms. Currently, Autograph Collection has more than 295 independent hotels across 50 countries.Â
RENOVATIONS AT EL DORADO HOTEL & KITCHEN:Â El Dorado Hotel & Kitchen in Sonoma, Calif. will launch the first of a two-part renovation plan at the property on May 1, which includes a complete redesign of the 27 guestrooms. The renovation includes modern furniture in the rooms, new bathrooms and a selection of experiences. The refresh was overseen by Bay Area-based Nadine Curtis, vice president of design project management for Palisades Hospitality. In May, the hotel will open a Mexican kitchen outpost and extension to the F&B program. Slated for early 2025, the second phase of the renovation plan will feature upgrades to the public spaces, including a revitalized lobby and a guest-only lounge. Seating and cabanas at the solar-heated saltwater pool will also be refreshed. The El Dorado Kitchen will also see a design refresh of its main dining room and patio.
