ASTON COLLECTION ADDS IN KENYA: Ocean Beach Resort & Spa, the luxury resort in Malindi, Kenya, has joined the Aston Collection Hotels under Archipelago International, one of the largest hotel operators in Southeast Asia. Located adjacent to the Malindi Golf and Country Club, the property showcases a combination of tropical early 20th-century style with wooden roofs. The resort features 20 rooms and 15 suites, along with multiple dining options, a pool and a spa.

ALIGNED HOSPITALITY GROWS ARIZONA PORTFOLIO: Aligned Hospitality Management has expanded its presence in Southern Arizona and added La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham NW Tucson Marana in Tucson, Ariz. This addition brings Aligned Hospitality’s overall portfolio to 21 properties. The company secured the management contract through a referral from a local broker. Owned by Yogi Investment Corp., La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham NW Tucson Marana has 65 rooms and includes a business center, fitness center and services such as BBQ grills, daily housekeeping and complimentary breakfast.
ROSEWOOD HOTEL GEORGIA TO UNDERGO RENOVATIONS: Rosewood Hotel Georgia, located in downtown Vancouver, has closed to undergo extensive refurbishments and is expected to reopen in April. Renovations include enhancements to the signature spaces across the hotel, including the lobby, lobby lounge, rooms and terrace. The hotel will feature a new design, while the dining concepts will be reimagined. The hotel has 156 rooms, including 22 suites, with interiors designed by New York City-based Lillian Wu Studio. Vancouver-based Ste. Marie Studio will lead the designs of the lobby lounge and terrace. Earlier a seasonal outpost, the terrace will now be open throughout the year from June. The hotel’s café and restaurant will remain open during the renovations.
PEBBLEBROOK COMPLETES SALE OF RETAIL SPACE IN CHICAGO: Pebblebrook Hotel Trust has completed the sale of the Marina City retail space and two parking facilities adjacent to its Hotel Chicago Downtown, Autograph Collection to a third party for $30 million. The deal includes 146,000 square feet of retail space and two parking facilities with 900 spaces. The transaction reflects a 6.4% capitalization rate based on the estimated net operating income for the year ending December 31, 2023. Proceeds from the sale will be utilized for general corporate purposes, Pebblebrook said, adding this might include lowering its outstanding debt and reacquiring the company’s common and preferred shares. Pebblebrook has completed seven deals, totaling $330.8 million, in 2023. At present, the company owns 46 hotels, totaling 12,000 rooms across 13 markets.
