ANANTARA TO LAUNCH IN INDIA: Minor Hotels will debut its luxury Anantara brand in India with the Anantara Jaipur Hotel. The newly-built hotel is set to open in Q4 2023. The hotel will offer 150 rooms and suites, including four terrace suites with private plunge pools and a 160-square-meter royal suite featuring a large terrace and private pool. The hotel will also include a specialty fine dining restaurant and terrace, a rooftop bar and restaurant, all-day dining with a show kitchen and a hotel bar lounge and terrace. The property will feature a spa with five treatment rooms, a beauty salon, gum with a semi-outdoor pool and a children’s club. To cater to destination wedding demands, the hotel will offer an 860-square-meter ballroom with an adjoining 110-square-meter pavilion, a big pre-function space serving the main ballroom, a smaller heritage banquet dining room, 3,800—square meters of banquet lawn with a staging area and commercial kitchen facilities and a dedicated porte-cochere area for the ballroom and event space.
TOSCANA RESORT CASTELFAFI REOPENS: Toscana Resort Castelfafi, the luxury resort in Italy’s Tuscany, has reopened following the most comprehensive renovations in its history. Owned by the Lohia family, the 146-room villa property offers views of the surrounding hills and vineyards and access to the region’s biggest championship, a 27-hole golf course. The resort also includes a spa, indoor/outdoor pools and multiple dining venues. With acres of vineyards and olive groves, Castelfafi produces its own wine and olive oil. The property underwent multi-million-dollar renovations to open new public spaces, rooms, suites and a brand-new restaurant. Renovations were led by designer Henry Chebaane, French decorating company Affine Design and Italian studio Caberlon Caroppi. The resort is the latest member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection along with American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts and a standing member of Virtuoso.
COMFORT SUITES SELLS FOR $22M: Comfort Suites Maingate East in Kissimmee, Fla., has sold for $22 million. Tampa, Fla.-based hotel brokerage and advisory firm DSH Hotel Advisors arranged the sale of the 198-room, seven-story hotel. The all-suite resort is located near Disney World. DSH represented both the buyer and the seller in the transaction. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed. DSH held the exclusive listing with the seller, which generated 175 signed Confidentiality Agreements from buyers and received 16 offers from buyers both nationally and globally. Constructed in 2000, the hotel underwent extensive renovations between 2016 and 2020.
ACCOR OPENS 50TH PULLMAN IN GREATER CHINA: Accor has opened Pullman Hotels & Resorts’ 50th hotel in Greater China — Pullman Haining Hotel — located in the business center of Haining City, Zhejiang Province. The Pullman brand, part of Accor’s recently created Premium, Midscale & Economy division, was introduced in China in 2008 with the opening of Pullman Dongguan Forum. Pullman will add more hotels in Greater China, including Pullman Wuhan Airport New City and Pullman Dunhuang International. More than 40 Pullman properties are currently in development in key destinations around the region.
IHG SIGNS FOUR HOTELS IN NEPAL: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Nepal-based Shangri-La Hotel & Resort Group to develop four new hotels in Nepal. This will add around 500 rooms to its portfolio in Nepal and see the debut of the InterContinental and Hotel Indigo brands in the market. The four new hotels include the 225-room InterContinental Kathmandu Lazimpat, 100-key Hotel Indigo Pokhara Gharipatan, 80-room InterContinental Resort Pokhara Begnas Lake and the 80-room InterContinental Resort Chitwan, Meghauli. Currently, under construction, these four properties will open in the next one-four years. IHG currently has 47 hotels operating under five brands in South West Asia, with 53 more properties expected to open in the next two/three years.
