ACCOR TO OPEN SOFITEL LEGEND IN EGYPT: Accor has partnered with Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company (ADTIC) to sign Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza in Egypt. Scheduled to open in 2027, the new luxury hotel will be located near the Giza Pyramids and about 500 meters from the Grand Egyptian Museum. The hotel will offer 303 rooms along with an all-day dining restaurant, three specialty dining rooms, a fitness center, a spa and infinity pools. The hotel will be the second Sofitel Legend in Egypt, joining Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan. Currently, Sofitel Legend has six hotels in its portfolio and is aiming to increase this to 15 properties in the next five years.
PM HOTEL GROUP ADDS TO MANAGEMENT PORTFOLIO: PM Hotel Group has been selected to manage three properties in the greater Washington D.C. area. The three new additions are the 324-room Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport; 126-room Hotel Arboretum; and 126-key Fairfield Inn & Suites Washington, DC/New York Avenue. This expands PM Hotel Group’s portfolio to 86 hotels across 22 states. These additions ads part of the group’s initiative to grow its presence in the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S.
IHG SIGNS INTERCONTINENTAL IN INDIA: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Adyar Gate Hotels to open InterContinental Kodaikanal Resort in Kodaikanal in the southern India state of Tamil Nadu. Scheduled to open in the hill town of Kodaikanal in 2028, the resort aligns with IHG’s strategy to expand its lifestyle and luxury portfolio across key leisure destinations in India. The signing also marks the debut of InterContinental brand in Kodaikanal and the sixth (open and in the pipeline) in the country. InterContinental Kodaikanal Resort will offer 100 rooms with cottages as well five dining options, a pool, fitness center, spa and two meeting spaces. Currently, IHG has 46 hotels operating under five brands in India, with a pipeline of 58 hotels expected to open in the next three to five years.
PETER ISLAND RESORT’S UPCOMING OPENING: Peter Island Resort, the largest private island resort in the British Virgin Islands, will be opening its doors on December 1. Since it closed in 2014, the resort has been renovated and reimagined to open as a luxury property. Besides relocating the resort to the island’s stretch of Deadman’s Beach, the property has also added new rooms and suites, two redesigned villas, a yacht club, two restaurants, a 10,000-square-foot seaside spa and expanded meetings area. Guests staying at the resort can access five beaches, a sunset loop offering panoramic views of the islands and seas for watersports, swimming and sailing. The former Sprat Bay Marina has been enhanced to open as Peter Island Yacht Club, which will offer multiple superyachts of up to 200 feet, a pool, recreational area with lawn games and pickleball, basketball courts, a bar, boutique and a commissary.
