Briefs: Accor signs Handwritten Collection in Croatia; Dalata’s sixth hotel in London

ACCOR SIGNS HANDWRITTEN COLLECTION IN CROATIA: Accor has signed its first Handwritten Collection in Croatia. Accor has partnered with Jadran Hotels Rijeka to convert the 135-year-old Hotel Continental in Rijeka to Handwritten Collection. The rebranded hotel will open in 2026. The iconic hotel features 75 rooms and will offer an authentic and modern guest experience based on traditional Croatian hospitality. Handwritten Collection, Accor’s boutique brand, currently consists of 17 properties across 11 countries, including in Australia, France, China, Poland and Estonia. The brand aims to achieve 250 hotels globally by 2030 and venture into new markets.

DALATA GROWS PRESENCE IN LONDON: Dalata Hotel Group plc, the Irish hotel operator, has added its sixth hotel in London. The group has exchanged an agreement for lease for a new luxury Clayton hotel that will be developed on the Tower 42 Estate in London. Scheduled to open in the second half of 2028, the full-service hotel will feature 154 rooms, a restaurant, bar and gym. The all-electric building will also have latest heat pump technology and is aiming for a BREEAM excellent accreditation. Once construction is completed, Dalata will operate the hotel through a 35-year operating lease, which will be subject to five-year rent reviews. This new hotel will bring Dalata’s presence in the city to 1,030 rooms. Dalata opened four new locations across London this year, including the Maldron Hotel Shoreditch, which opened in August.

LBA HOSPITALITY ADDS IHG HOTELS IN CHATTANOOGA: LBA Hospitality and 3H Group have grown their portfolio with two new IHG hotels in Chattanooga, Tenn. The two properties include Candlewood Suites Chattanooga East and Holiday Inn Express Chattanooga East. The hotels mark the first dual-branded initiative between LBA Hospitality and 3H Group and adds 154 rooms to the area. While the Holiday Inn Express caters to families and business travelers, Candlewood Suites is best suited for travelers looking for extended stays in a home-like atmosphere with full kitchens in every suite.

RENOVATIONS AT HYATT CENTRIC ROSEMONT: Bradford Allen Hospitality has commenced a $25 million renovation of its Hyatt Rosemont Chicago/O’Hare Hotel to transition it into a Hyatt Centric-branded hotel. Located across the street from Rivers Casino, the hotel will be converted into a full-service lifestyle property. The refurbishments will include completely remodeled 206 rooms, updated 12,000 square feet of meeting space, an improved fitness center and ballroom. The former American eatery with a seasonal entrance will be converted into an upscale, beverage-forward destination restaurant with outdoor seating. Maverick Hotels & Restaurants will continue to operate the hotel.
