Accor will manage this first in Qatar: Accor will manage the Middle East’s first Swissôtel combined hotel and residential project — a property occupying two mixed-use towers in Qatar and billed as the brand’s regional flagship. The group signed an agreement with Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Co. to manage the Swissôtel Doha Corniche Park Towers Hotel and Residences, a development which has a 350-room, 5-star hotel and 121 luxury branded residences. Set to open in 2022, the project will be located in the capital’s West Bay.
Wyndham signs franchise for US$42M resort: Wyndham Hotels and Resorts will expand in regional South Australia after adding the US$42 million Yorke Peninsula resort to its portfolio under a new franchise agreement. Scheduled to open by 2023, the Wyndham Wallaroo Shores Resort will have 100 villas as well as a 42-seat luxury cinema. The resort is the first stage of a US$220 million mixed-use project.
Hyatt in Hana: A Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Mani Brothers Real Estate Group, a California-based full-service commercial property firm, to rebrand the Hana, Hawaii-based 75-room Travaasa Hana into Hana-Maui Resort, under the Destination Hotels brand. The resort has two dining options, an indoor-outdoor spa and wellness center, two pools and a yoga pavilion. The resort plans to offer private helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft rides to Hana.
Sage adds two: Denver-based Sage Hospitality Group announced the addition of two California hotels to its portfolio of managed properties: The Guild Hotel, Tribute Portfolio in downtown San Diego and The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort and Spa in downtown Sonoma. The Guild Hotel opened in summer 2019 and is owned by San Diego-based Oram Hotels. The Sonoma property is owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Co.
Domes managing in Greece: Greek-based Domes Resorts in Greece will manage two resorts owned by Hotel Investment Partners on Corfu and Zakynthos. The two properties, the Grand Hotel on Corfu and Zante Beach, on Zakynthos, are part of Blackstone’s recently acquired Greek portfolio and are expected to undergo renovation.
Oto in Orlando: Oto Development, part of The Johnson Group, is expanding its management portfolio with three hotels in Orlando, Florida market. The new properties for the Spartanburg, South Carolina-based hospitality company include: the Hyatt Place across from Universal Resort, the Hyatt House across from Universal Resort, and the Hyatt Place Orlando/Convention Center.
