Brakebush Brothers predicts ambitious output at its N.C. plant

Brakebush Brothers Inc. is projecting significant annual output for its revamped poultry processing plant in Mocksville, N.C., following an expansion establishing a 110,000-sq.-ft. facility.

The facility will have three state-of-the-art poultry production lines when fully operational and eventually will produce 90 million pounds of product annually, the company said in a news release. A December 2017 fire severely damaged the facility and Brakebush purchased the plant from House of Raeford in 2018. Brakebush expects to employ more than 300 people at the facility, including the re-hiring of many former House of Raeford employees.

Westfield, Wis.-based Brakebush offers a variety of further processed and raw IQF chicken products to foodservice outlets nationwide, employing a total of more than 2,100 team members at four facilities, including Mocksville.
