Baron Hotels and Resorts has appointed Mehdi Othmani as area general manager. He will oversee the group’s major operations in Egypt and lead the development of several upcoming projects in the region and abroad.
Mehdi’s background—spanning Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Red Sea—covers more than three decades of experience with renowned luxury hotel brands, including Steigenberger, Hilton Worldwide and Mövenpick, taking on responsibilities ranging from major renovation leadership to the execution of pre-opening strategies and operational improvements.
In addition, his management background includes properties of substantial scale and teams representing a broad array of nationalities and disciplines.
In his new function, Mehdi will provide leadership to the group’s flagship hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, Cairo and Sahl Hasheesh, as well as support the expansion of Baron Cascade and the group’s entry into Zanzibar. Most recently, he served as c
